We all know that the intake of sodium and potassium has an effect on the maintenance of blood pressure. The latest research has found that vitamin B2 is also related to blood pressure. Scholars from
Southern Medical University Southern Hospital studied the data of a total of 12,245 participants included in the Chinese Nutrition and Health Survey (CHNS) cohort study.
Among them, the riboflavin intake in the diet is measured by three consecutive 24-hour diet memories combined with family food list in the past week. The outcome of the study was new onset hypertension, defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥90mmHg, or diagnosed by a doctor or received antihypertensive treatment during the follow-up period.
The results found that compared with the lowest intake group, intake of more vitamin B2 is associated with a 26% reduction in the risk of new hypertension. Z2z vitamin B2 supplementation has a greater effect in people with a low sodium/potassium intake ratio, which means that people with low salt and high potassium intake in will benefit more from vitamin B2 supplementation.
"rotten mouth corners" may be lack of vitamin B2
Vitamin B2, also known as riboflavin, is an important component of many enzyme systems in the body, and , which are important for maintaining normal metabolism and energy metabolism. This water-soluble vitamin has a considerable effect. If the body lacks it, inflammation of the oral cavity, skin, reproductive system and other systems will occur.
For example, the lack of vitamin B2 often causes the "rotten corners of the mouth" that the common people often say. The older generations say that they are getting angry. Let them drink some mung bean soup that clears away heat and detoxification. In fact, this is a common manifestation of vitamin B2 deficiency. A severe lack of vitamin B2 may also cause symptoms such as conjunctivitis, blepharitis, corneal vascular hyperplasia, and photophobia.
Children, pregnant women, or breastfeeding mothers, these three groups of people should increase their vitamin B2 intake. There are also people who are purely vegetarian but not meat, or who eat very delicate meals, and may lack B vitamins in their bodies.
Which foods are rich in vitamin B2?
Vitamin B2 is widely present in animal and plant foods. The internal organs (heart, liver, kidney) of animals contain the highest vitamin B2, which can contain about 2 mg per 100 grams. Milk, dairy products, and eggs are also high in vitamin B2, eels have the highest content in fish, and dried beans and green leafy vegetables in plant foods also contain more vitamin B2.
These foods are very common in daily life. If such foods are not eaten, the diet is very monotonous, and the possibility of riboflavin deficiency is very high. It should also be noted that the content of cereals is closely related to processing methods and cooking methods. For example, the preservation rate of vitamin B2 in polished rice is only 11%, and the preservation rate of vitamin B2 in standard wheat flour is only 35%, and the loss rate of waterlogging and boiling is relatively high. For example, the preservation rate of vitamin B2 after cooking millet is only 30%, so the staple food should pay attention to the combination of thickness.
The recommended intake of vitamin B2 for adults is 1.4 mg/day for men and 1.2 mg/day for women.
Is eating too much food containing vitamin B2 bad for the body?
Vitamin B2 is water-soluble. Water-soluble means that even if you consume a little bit more in your diet, it will be excreted. Generally speaking, it will not accumulate and poison the body.
However, it should be reminded that, because vitamin B2 does not work, you cannot look at B2 alone, but look at the B vitamins as a whole.
can be understood here by applying the wooden barrel principle. The amount of water in a wooden barrel is not determined by which board is the longest, but by which board is the shortest. If a person's intake of vitamin B2 is quite high, but only a little bit of vitamin B6, then the water will flow all along the B6 gap.
So we said, of course vitamin B2 must be supplemented, but don't forget to supplement other B vitamins together, so that the power will be greater. How to do
?
Please remember the four-character proverb: "1112". Three 1, that is, the average adult eats 1 portion of coarse grains, 1 egg, and 1 bag of milk every day. One 2 means eating 2 taels of lean meat every day. Supplementing in this amount will not cause B vitamin deficiency under normal circumstances.
