This phenomenon will lead to collective decision making in open discussions when a more influential and stronger person makes a wrong decision, most people tend to agree and make collective decision-making mistakes. The author spent a lot of time explaining this phenomenon and proposed corresponding solutions.
This reminds me of an interesting thing at work. When I was conducting a rural work survey, I visited with a colleague. During the visit, I misremembered the location of a farmer named Zhang Tianwen. Later, when I was determining the location of Zhang Tianwen's house with another colleague, he affirmed me, so I automatically benchmarked Zhang Tianwen's house in the wrong position. Later, I and my colleagues who had been visiting each other before conducted a follow-up visit to Zhang Tianwen. I confidently took him to the "wrong position" I remembered. The position he originally remembered was accurate and questioned me, but because of my confidence and strong success, we took a few more kilometers of roads. Later, this colleague asked me, why are you so confident? I didn't know how to answer at that time, but now when I think about it, I was dominated by this psychological phenomenon.
