"I want to go to a place without worries, not a person." This is a sentence said by the famous psychologist Alfred Hicks in a book. In the eyes of many, "troublesome" is a distracting emotional disorder. However, some studies have found that troubles are not caused by mental illness, but a physiological disease that may disappear over time - the essence of this physiological phenomenon will not disappear for a long time. Today, our perception of troubles may change when people realize that life stress has become the biggest burden for people.
- 1. Why are there troubles?
- From "why are there troubles" to "why are there troubles", from a psychological point of view, these views are actually contradictory: on the one hand, there are many different theories to explain troubles, some explanations seem to be correct, while others seem to be wrong; on the other hand, there are also many different statements that are contradictory and cannot be integrated with each other. For example, “emotional disorder is a kind of egocentricity” (i.e. people think they are unique). It is a psychological barrier or stress. Therefore, these statements have no reason to support them.
- 2. Troubles are a physiological disease, not a mental illness
- In his book "Mental Health", Mark Brody, professor of psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), used some examples to explain the so-called "mental illness". For example, when the researchers followed up on schizophrenia patients, they found that most people with mental illness would be "troubled by the past." But there is a theory that the "future things" in these people's lives are not "mental diseases" - it is a physiological disease, a physiological phenomenon caused by the production and regulation of brain nerve cells.
- 3. Troubles are like our body, which gradually disappears over time
- Our body is composed of multiple parts such as the brain, internal organs, muscles, etc. The human body has hundreds of different forms of cells, which convert energy into cellular energy in various parts of the body. If every cell can handle energy, we can adapt and repair them in less time. However, since each cell has its own differences in its functions and abilities, they compete with each other to keep themselves in their best condition—a competition not out of malice, but to better adapt to the more abilities they have. In order to survive in the new era, everyone must accept the fact that they have problems. Everyone has their own worries and confusions, which is normal - after all, there are too many troublesome things in life!
- 4. It is not scary for people to get rid of their worries. The important thing is how to get rid of it.
- From a psychological point of view, troubles may not be completely eliminated. It is a product of emotions that we cannot completely get rid of in life, but it will disappear with time. As time goes by, worries may gradually disappear - this is not scary. The most terrifying thing is that we don’t realize that we can’t completely get rid of them. If someone does not recognize this ability, they will face various pains and problems: negative emotions such as depression, anxiety, pessimism, suspicion and irritability keep a long distance from friends and family they are most familiar with in the past and create conflicts. These people may not be able to completely get rid of negative emotions—but they can be changed by our behavior, and we can help ourselves get rid of these negative emotions and problems through positive self-regulation.
