Social Work Station (room) often encounter emotional problems of the client when serving, to help social workers provide more professional services to the client and improve their ability to consult psychologically in individual cases. To this end, on October 12, 2022, under the guidance of the Social Security Bureau of the High-tech Zone, the Social Work General Station of the High-tech Zone organized a special practical training on "Improving Professional Skills and Capabilities in Case Consulting". The Social Work General Station specially invited Chen Xu to National Health Commission Intermediate Psychological therapist and National Secondary Psychological Counselor to the scene to introduce and demonstrate the psychotherapy technology focused on the training personnel.
After a brief introduction, Teacher Chen first let the participants experience the psychological treatment technology that is about to start classes. After a series of treatment processes were demonstrated, Teacher Chen Xu got to the point and began to give a specific introduction to the focus-oriented psychotherapy techniques that everyone demonstrated. In combination with the demonstration process, Teacher Chen mentioned six steps: making room, experiencing, gaining hands, interactive sensing, questioning and acceptance. At the same time, Teacher Chen emphasized that the most important thing in the use of this therapeutic technique is absolute listening and retelling.
After introducing the theory part, Teacher Chen guided the participants to enter the practical practice stage. Each two people practice in a group, one is the consultant and the other is the consultant. They apply and experience the focus-oriented psychotherapy technology, and then practice role switching after the end of the round. After each group of exercises, each group shared their experiences and feelings respectively. Teacher Chen answered the difficulties in the application of psychotherapy techniques that everyone found during the exercises, and once again demonstrated the correct use of this psychotherapy technique to all members present. Finally, Teacher Chen and everyone had targeted exchanges on psychological counseling issues encountered in case work and gave professional and feasible opinions.
This training has given all participants a deep impression and systematic understanding of the focus-oriented psychotherapy technology through an experiential participation teaching method based on practical practice and supplemented by theory. It provides new methods and new ideas for the subsequent case work, which helps promote the practical ability of social workers.
