participated in all kinds of dating and blind date activities. The atmosphere on the scene was in place and my performance was acceptable. Why did others succeed in holding hands and still be alone?
In a study published in " Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences " on October 31 local time, the research team of UC Davis explained the above issues from the perspective of "first impression". Research points out that what kind of first impression you leave on others can often determine whether the other person is willing to develop a romantic relationship with you. Why is the first impression important in

?
Experimental psychology research shows that the order in which external information is input to the brain has a decisive effect on the cognitive effect - the information input first is often the greatest effect. Psychologists call this phenomenon the "primary effect."
In other words, our impression of a person is often frozen at the first sight, because once the first impression is formed, it can dominate the other person's brain and last for a long time. Even if it is not necessarily accurate, it is the most distinctive and stable existence in my mind and greatly affects the process of interaction between the two parties.
This also means that in social activities such as dating and job hunting, we can use this effect to try our best to create a good first impression, thereby laying the foundation for the establishment of long-term relationships.
"Popular" and "Can I chat" are the most important
But what kind of first impression is considered good?
For this purpose, the researchers planned a large-scale blind date and invited 550 single men and women to participate. The participants were all from the United States or Canada, and the total number of pairs was 6,600 times during the experiment. 2 to 3 months after the blind date, all participants were followed up to evaluate their love success rate.
Then, they developed a statistical model based on the follow-up results to determine which aspects of the "first impression" will have an impact on the pairing results.
According to traditional theory, the construction of the first impression is related to three aspects, including: selectivity, that is, he likes her because he likes everyone; popularity, that is, he likes her because everyone likes her; compatibility, that is, he likes her only and is not disturbed by other factors.
. The results show that in a large-scale dating event, a person's popularity and compatibility have a great impact on the success rate of hand-in-hand, and only selectivity can be almost ignored.

In short, if you are well received and everyone loves you when participating in the event, you have a higher probability of winning the favor of your favorite person. If you have a great time talking to him, you can chat for a night as if no one else, and both parties are very enthusiastic. Congratulations, he may also be interested in you.
"A good first impression is not just a 'popular contest', but also a 'compatibility' between the two, even if the two are still in the stage of initial understanding." The paper's co-author Alexander Baxter, Ph.D. in psychology at the University of California, Davis, concluded.
appearance is not critical
It is worth mentioning that the research has also investigated some excellent first impressions in public concepts - such as "extroverted personality" and "prominent appearance", which have the impact on the success rate of love. The result of
seems to be contrary to common sense - when it comes to determining a romantic relationship, extroverts do have more advantages than introverts, but the former is only slightly "winning" and the advantages are not obvious; while the "appearance" originally known as the "first element of love" actually has a very weak correlation with whether the development of the romantic relationship is smooth.
This also tells us that love at first sight is not completely "looking at face".
