" Wine is a grain essence, the more you drink it, the younger you get! "
"Drinking can soften, dilate blood vessels, promote blood flow, prevents stroke ! "
...
These are the words that many people who like to drink often say, is also what people often say when they persuade people to drink in the wine court .
However, existing studies have found that drinking is not only an unhealthy behavior, but also a behavior that increases the risk of mortality and death of multiple diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, etc. There is no "appropriate amount" to drink. Every drop of alcohol you drink in your body may subtly erode your body , damaging the health of multiple organs such as the liver, brain, etc.
Recently, a new study published in Neurology (Neurology) added new evidence to " drinking is harmful to health ". The study found that drinking not only does not benefit cardiovascular health, but also increases the risk of stroke .

researchers analyzed data from the INTERSTROKE study (the largest international case-control study to evaluate the risk of stroke to date, which was a neurological factor), and a total of 125,848 participants were included.
The average age of participants was 1.8 years of ; 40.5% were female; 12913 were stroke patients, and
Through the questionnaire, the researchers counted the participants' basic information on , such as height, weight, nationality, etc.; lifestyle information on ; hypertension , diabetes , hyperlipidemia and other chronic diseases, and ; stroke type (such as ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke) and other information.
statistics show that among all participants,

Currently drinkers are mostly young and currently smoking men, and have less physical activity; while never drinkers , the prevalence of for hypertension, , high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease is also relatively low.

After deducting other factors, the researchers found that drinking is related to an increase in stroke risk , and the different amount of alcohol consumption in is also different from the risk of different types of stroke .
and who never drink alcohol compared with
people who currently drink alcohol, the risk of type of stroke and hemorrhagic stroke increased
- 4% and
0% , respectively; but there was no obvious correlation with the risk of ischemic stroke.
There was no obvious relationship between drinking alcohol and different types of strokes.

0dlbs (1-7 cups per week) has increased the risk of hemorrhagic stroke by
intermittent heavy drinking (drinking > 5 glasses per day at least once a month) have increased the risk of all types of stroke, ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke by 133%, 29% and 76% , respectively.
In addition, the study results also show that the association between alcohol consumption and stroke risk is more significant in people without hypertension and currently smoking ; the association between large-scale alcohol consumption and all types of stroke is more significant in people with current smoking in Chinese and Southeast Asia.

Researchers analyzed that the association between alcohol consumption and stroke risk may be related to multiple mechanisms, including drinking alcohol that can cause increased blood pressure in , hypercoagulant blood flow in , decreased cholesterol , decreased fibrinogen , changes in endothelial function, weakened inflammatory regulation function, atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmia , etc., which in turn increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as stroke. However, the relevant mechanism has not been clarified and more research and exploration are needed.
It should be noted that this study only showed an association between alcohol consumption and increased stroke risk, and did not indicate a causal relationship . Moreover, there are some limitations in the research, such as some data relying on participants' recall, which may also have an impact on the research results.
study finally emphasized that stroke is the main cause of death and disability worldwide, and the incidence is rising. Therefore, it is urgent to understand and identify more risk factors for stroke to take preventive measures to reduce the risk of stroke.
The findings of this study remind us that drinking may be a risk factor for stroke, and even small amounts of can increase the risk of stroke. should include alcohol non-drinking in a healthy lifestyle to prevent stroke instead of drinking in small amounts.
In short, drinking seriously harms health, and the safest amount of alcohol in is "0" . Drinkers should try to quit drinking; those who do not drink alcohol should keep drinking and do not try to drink alcohol.
