Focus is a problem that many parents attach great importance to. The level of concentration has a lot to do with the child’s academic performance and personal achievements.
At the same time, many parents find that their children are not particularly focused. Lele's mother had such troubles. She let Lele play with building blocks. He went to play with a small house halfway through the construction of a small house. I read a picture book to him, and before he finished telling one story, he went to search for another. He asked him to do his homework. After sitting down for less than two minutes, he had to drink water, go to the bathroom, and talk about other topics.
Lele's mother often reminds him: "Be focused on doing things, don't always move around." Colele couldn't listen at all and still did his own way. Lele's mother even suspected that Lele had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, so she took him to do an assessment, but the result was normal again. But seeing that the child is always like this, Lele's mother is very distressed.
A survey shows that in large and medium-sized cities in my country, about 75% of children have attention problems. Among them, 60% of the children cannot persist in listening to the class for more than 30 minutes, 20% of the children are often distracted, and UNESCO also lists attention problems as an important factor in children's learning disabilities.
Most of these children are less than ADHD, but they cannot focus on one thing for a long time, which has a great impact on their learning and activities. In fact, in addition to being determined by genetic factors, most of the child's attention is related to the child's living environment and the way adults are educated.
First, adults always label children . When an adult finds that his child is indifferent, he will not help but complain, "Why are you so unfocused? Your attention is not at all!" Over time, the child will agree with the adult's statement and feel that he is a child with weak concentration, so it will be difficult for him to calm down and do something for a long time.
Second, adults have too high requirements for children . Studies have shown that children's attention duration varies at different ages: when they are 3-4 years old, the time for children to concentrate is only 3-5 minutes; when they are 4-5 years old, it will reach 5-10 minutes; when they are 5-6 years old, it will reach 10-15 minutes; when they are 7-10 years old, the time for children to concentrate is 20-30 minutes. If an adult does not understand the rules of children's attention development, it is obviously unrealistic to require a three or four-year-old child to concentrate for 10 minutes.
Third, adults interfere with children too much . This situation is the most common in life. Children are concentrating on puzzles. Adults think that children are particularly cute and can't help but kiss them at them. The child was reading a picture book, and the adult immediately walked to the child and asked to explain it to the child. The child is thinking about a problem, and the adults keep urging the child to write quickly. The child's concentration was destroyed bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit.
The above problems are caused by adults. If these factors are eliminated, adults find that their children's concentration is still not very good. They can use some training to help their children improve, such as Schulte square , listening to word training, listening to sound clapping, finding differences in sentences, etc.
Improving children's concentration requires a process. Adults should not be in a hurry. Give children more patience and time, and find more methods suitable for children.
