In the book "Mr. Toad Goes to See a Psychologist", when Toad Goes to meet a counselor for the third time, Mr. Heron told a fable:
On a very small planet, there are three people living, namely F, M and W. W is very weak, F and M are twice as tall as W, and W relies on F and M in both life and emotion. Most of the time, they are very nice to W, but sometimes they are angry, and W will feel scared and uneasy.
In my opinion, the very small family in the story refers to a family, F and M refer to the father and the present, respectively, W refer to children, and are children from childhood.
If it is on the planet, maybe W can build a spaceship to escape like Toad said. However, as a child who is still in his infancy, he cannot escape and can only "adapt to their moodiness every time."
Mr. Heron introduced the concepts of "natural children" and "adaptive children" through this story.
Through this story, Mr. Toad also reminded him of his childhood.
Mr. Toad was born in a very wealthy family, but his childhood was not happy.
He almost never felt his father's love. My father was always very strict with him, was picky about all his behaviors, and rarely got close to him. He played with him several times, and pushed him off his knees in disgust.
The mother is dependent on her father and is also afraid of her father's authority. Therefore, she deliberately does not get close to the toad and hugs him rarely.
Faced with a harsh father and a cold mother, Mr. Toad adapts with obedience, apology and dependence. Not only that, when he grows up, Mr. Toad will still face his friends with the same attitude.
