We have long known that Jack Ma and Concubine Tong are a very sweet couple, but did you hear the TVB actor gushing about his girlfriend in person? Well, it almost makes us eat sugar.
When 8days.sg arrived at co-working space JustCo at The Centrepoint last Friday (9 December), we noticed that Kenneth, who has been in town recently with Eric Tsang and Yao Lingling , was strangely quiet during interviews with Chinese media.
When Kenneth finally spoke, we realized it had something to do with his lack of fluency in Mandarin.
So when it was our turn to chat with the 48-year-old star, we asked him if he wanted to speak in Cantonese and boy, his eyes lit up.
"Oh, I speak Cantonese?!" he asked, his expression wide as a child on Christmas morning. "That's great! Wow, [I'm] totally relaxed because I can speak Cantonese.
With the language barrier gone, we felt compelled to ask the actor about his relationship with 35 Roxanne's relationship.
While we were initially worried that he might reject our questions, it turns out that Kenneth, who is known to be one of Hong Kong's best stars, actually enjoys talking about his girlfriend.

You and Roxanne recently started living together, have you learned anything new about each other?
Not true, but the biggest problem we found was that none of us knew how to iron clothes ( laughs ). When I lived with my family, my mother would iron my clothes. You know, when we work, we're busy. So you can wear them while someone irons your clothes. But since neither she nor I know how to iron, So our clothes are wrinkled. We can't wear them out! ( chuckles )
We never imagined that ironing clothes would be the biggest problem. Surprisingly, cooking, washing dishes, mopping and vacuuming the floors isn't a big deal. Even taking care of cats is no problem! ( laughs )
We know you are a loyal Donald Duck True fans, and you have tons of memorabilia featuring Disney characters. Did you bring anything with you to your new house?
are just a few. The main ones are still in my old house. This is because we have two cats and you know how they like to push things? ( laughs at ) So I dare not bring my Donald Duck over ( laughs at ).
Look, Kenneth really loves his Donald... but it looks like the cats have taken over?
You mentioned in an interview that you accidentally soiled Roxanne's shirt while doing laundry. Have you done your housework?
Yes, I have become more and more familiar with [housework]. Now I wash dishes faster and I know how to separate clothes [during laundry]. I used to only separate light colored clothes from dark colored clothes. Now I know you can differentiate them further.
you really learn from your mistakes ( laughs ). He had a very white [shirt] and I think it was her nightgown, they were pure white. I stained it until it turned slightly yellow. (c hackles)
Did she complain?
She does, but once she's done complaining, she's usually fine. Actually I didn't even notice, she was the one who did. Maybe she's just more sensitive to colors ( laughs ).

You have mentioned you before Planning your wedding. Any updates?
We are still making arrangements and we do plan to get married next year. But in the end, the epidemic is not over yet, and Hong Kong is not as open as Singapore. There are a lot of things we can't do, so we're still thinking about it.
My good friend (former TVB actor) Wong Kar Wai got married earlier this year, and he told me that he and his wife were under a lot of stress two or three months before his wedding.They have a plan, but every day they worry that Hong Kong's COVID protocols will change and they will have to completely adjust their plans.
We really don't want to go through that kind of stress. We believe that marriage is a once-in-a-lifetime event that should be happy and should not be stressful. That's why we didn't get married this year and plan to get married next year. Hopefully the regulations will be looser soon so we can organize everything better.
But have you already proposed to her?
Oh, it's a secret. I can't say yet. We will announce when the time comes. (smile)
Kenneth wants you to wait for their good news, okay?
Have you ever thought about hosting an overseas wedding? Maybe in Singapore, maybe?
We did consider it. However, if we do have an overseas wedding then we will have to consider our parents as they will have to fly over too. But they are not suitable for long distance flights. Flying for more than 10 hours can be quite strenuous for seniors.
So if we have to accommodate them, it's better to go somewhere near Hong Kong. So actually Singapore is one of the options ( laughs ). Places like Japan and Singapore. But now we are still thinking about it and haven’t decided yet.
Where is your honeymoon?
Initially, [Roxanne] suggested we go to England because that's where she studied, and I suggested Canada because that's where I studied ( giggles ).
Ever since you started dating, people have always asked about your relationship. Does it stress you out?
is not the case. It’s just that a lot of things haven’t been confirmed, so I don’t know what to say to you. ( laughs ) I always tell reporters that once everything is arranged, we will talk. Maybe we'll notify everyone via our social media.
This is actually a joyful thing because we realize that a lot of people really care about us. From the moment we announced our plans to get married, I have received so many messages congratulating us. We are really grateful to our friends and journalists who have given us their blessings from way back. We don't find them annoying. [We know] they're just worried.
