Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has three core symptoms, namely attention deficit (commonly speaking, it is easy to be distracted and inattentive), hyperactivity and impulsiveness. Some children mainly focus on attention deficits, some focus on hyperactivity and impulsivity, and more of them coexist. A survey shows that about 10% to 15% of children with ADHD have no obvious signs of hyperactivity, and the most prominent sign is inattention. Children like this are difficult to concentrate, or their concentration is short and not in line with their actual age characteristics. For example, during class, they often look around, absent-minded, or seem quiet, but in fact they are "distracted" and "slipped" and do not listen. When doing homework, I play while doing it, make corrections casually, and make mistakes. You cannot concentrate on doing one thing, and you will always have a beginning and no end to do things, and you will get a beginning and a failure. Girls with ADHD are generally less active than boys, and are mostly manifested as inattention.
A person's attention ability includes visual attention, auditory attention, tactile attention, etc., among which auditory attention ability refers to the ability to select and concentrate meaningful sound stimulation, also known as auditory concentration, which is actually the listening skill. A situation like Yangyang: it seems that he is listening to the class very "seriously", but his grades are not good, but it is actually a manifestation of weak auditory attention ability in ADHA.
Children with weak auditory attention ability generally have the following symptoms:
△ The eyes are "floating", and they cannot speak to others and face them, forming a "four eyes are opposite".
△ Turning to ears, parents usually say something like "wind in the ear".
△ It seems that I am listening carefully, but my eyes are dull, and I think about other things while listening.
△Still others finish their words.
△ Looks impatient or look around when listening to others' explanations.
△ If you don’t concentrate on listening to the class, you are often distracted by subtle interference from the outside world, so you often listen to a little and miss a piece of it when listening to the class.
According to the "Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of ADHD Disorders in China" compiled by the Psychiatric Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, there are about 14.61 million to 19.79 million children with ADHD nationwide, with a medical visit rate of less than 10%. According to international statistics, the incidence of ADHD has increased from 3%-5% to 7%.
