In January this year, 52-year-old Aunt Xu accidentally discovered a pigeon egg-sized tumor in the sacral and tail. She didn't take it seriously at first, but over the past few months, the tumor continued to grow. chordoma is a rare low-grade malignant tumor. It originates from the residual chord tissue of the embryo. It has a relatively hidden disease, lacks characteristic clinical manifestations, is insensitive to chemoradiotherapy, and is generally mainly surgical resection. To remove Aunt Xu's "sacral and coccyx chordoma", the surgical technical requirements are very high, because the tumor is large, the anatomical position is deep, and the nerves and vascular plexus are rich, which can easily cause nerve damage and may also cause large amounts of bleeding during the operation.
Faced with such a very high technical content and high risk operation, Tao Zhiwei's team did not choose to retreat, but actively communicated with patients and their families, formulated a thorough diagnosis and treatment plan, and decided to do its best to remove the tumor. In order to ensure the safety of the surgery, multi-disciplinary consultations and discussions are organized, detailed countermeasures are formulated, surgical plans are formulated, and sufficient blood is prepared before the surgery. Finally, with close cooperation in the anesthesia operating room, the resection was successfully performed over 6 hours, with only 500-600 ml of bleeding, and bilateral sacral 3 and above nerve roots were completely preserved.术后，徐阿姨恢复良好，大小便及下肢神经运动感觉正常。
