As a patient with severe procrastination, I have been fighting procrastination for several years. The good news is that with the continuous struggle, my procrastination has improved significantly. Combined with my personal experience and the minefield I have stepped on, I share 3 very practical tips:
1
Must start to do it. This is the best antidote to all procrastination and the most difficult thing for all procrastination patients to do, but it must be done.
The best way to do it is to move forward in small steps!
One of the main reasons why many people procrastinate is their inner fear of the established goals.
For example, the goal you expect to achieve is too cumbersome, too long or too difficult. Although the pleasure of final completion is attractive, the difficulties in the beginning can also be deterred.
So the target should be small, light, easy to start, and don't have too many preconditions.
For example, I once set a goal for learning English. After signing up for the course, I found it was too difficult to sit in front of the computer and listen to the class for one hour every day, so I didn’t start after signing up for a long time.
Later I told myself that I would listen to the 5-minute class and reward myself for watching the show after listening.
Although I listened to the class to watch the drama with peace of mind, in fact, once I started, I basically listened to it for more than 5 minutes, from the first 15 minutes to the next 30 minutes, and then to the time when I was unconsciously able to listen to it. This is a gradual process. Instead of forcing execution, I gain more.

1 Do not preset the result.
Maybe everyone who has fought with procrastination has read articles like this:
persists for one month, fans break the 1W mark,
persists for three months, lose oneself,
persists for 10,000 hours, become an expert
etc....
articles like the above are very attractive, and it seems that you can see the lighthouse when you are confused, as if you can see the same result as long as you persist in doing it.
But the fact is that most people either cannot do it or insist on doing it, and they have not got the same result.
In fact, whether it is losing weight, learning a foreign language, doing side jobs or other goals you want to achieve, the most important thing is to keep in the process of "doing", that is, sticking to yourself.
After all, the goal that can make people procrastinate is generally not something that can be easily achieved in just a few days, so persistence is definitely useful, but it cannot be completely dependent on persistence. Whether the
target is finally achieved may also be affected by the environment, talent, methods, skills and other aspects.
So in the process of persistence, you must also learn to review, clarify the reasons, find the direction, and make comprehensive efforts.
If you have to preset a result, it is best to:
does not necessarily achieve the goal, but there is hope. If you don’t start doing it, there will be nothing. So, regardless of the result, you will be done!

Get rid of the mental internal friction and regret, and give yourself affirmative encouragement in time.
Maybe many people have had this experience:
has set up today's TO DO LIST, but most of them were not completed in the end.
After the end of the day, you start to blame yourself, regret, and even hate yourself like this, and then make a decision that you must complete it from tomorrow.
And the next day, I started to procrastinate again, then blame myself and regret it, and it just happened over and over again.
Patients with procrastination may spend one day developing an action plan, perform half a day, and then use one month to blame themselves for procrastination.
Negative mental internal friction will cause us to fall into negative emotions, underestimate the effectiveness of actions, and overestimate the difficulty of completing goals.
The mental internal friction that has been repeated over the week will even make us difficult because the expectations are too low and the pressure is too high, which will reduce the motivation to act.
So you have to get rid of internal friction and don’t deny yourself. Even if most of the plans are not completed today, it doesn’t matter. Give yourself a little encouragement. Only with encouragement can you be motivated. Even a little bit is a happy progress.
Don’t overestimate the possible changes over the past 10 years, and don’t underestimate the difference a little bit every day.
