


In order to thoroughly implement the superior's "Instructions on the Initiatives of New Recruitment of Firefighters in 2022" and the instructions and requirements of the head of the corps, the new training cadre backbone training team of the Yunnan Forest Fire Brigade organized a discussion and exchange meeting on psychological work for new firefighters, aiming to further recognize the shortcomings in ability, improve professional quality, and accumulate "new" experience. During the discussion, 139 newly trained cadres and backbones jointly analyzed the causes, exchanged experiences, and made suggestions based on new situations and problems that may arise in the psychological work of new firefighters, providing useful reference for doing a good job in the psychological work of new firefighters.


Discussion meeting believes that as firefighters born in the 1990s and 2000s will gradually become the main body of the team, they have diverse thoughts and unique personalities, and have their own opinions and opinions when encountering problems. The backbone of new training cadres should grasp their psychological characteristics and laws, and carry out psychological counseling and educational guidance for the psychological reflections of new firefighters at different stages: First, the initial adaptation stage, and the focus of psychological work is carried out around the word "new". Most new firefighters have not experienced strict management by the troops, and are unfamiliar with the nature, functions, management systems, standard requirements, etc. of the team. They do not understand the "two strict and two accurate" standards of the team. Cadres and backbones should increase their efforts to communicate with each other, help them adapt to unfamiliar environments and work and life rhythms as soon as possible, alleviate psychological pressure and burden, and help establish correct professional values; the second is to strengthen the training stage, and the focus of psychological work is carried out around the word "strong". In the middle and late stages of training, the difficulty and intensity of training gradually increases, and most new firefighters will be in overloaded, which is a great test for their physical fitness, endurance and willpower, and they are very prone to psychological problems such as anxiety, fatigue, and impatience. Cadres and backbones should vary from person to person. Focus on individual physical and psychological qualities, focusing on anti-frustration and stimulating potential guidance to help correctly understand setbacks and difficulties; third, during the assessment and acceptance stage, psychological work focuses on the word "test". During the assessment and acceptance stage, the new firefighter may experience psychological problems such as confusion and anxiety in the face of the assessment pressure and the unknown life of being about to step down due to whether he can achieve his expected goals. Cadres and backbones should vigorously carry out heart-to-heart talks to help new firefighters understand more about the work characteristics of grassroots units and reduce psychological burdens based on the correct view of acceptance and assessment.

We must pay attention to giving full play to the sense of ownership of new firefighters. Focus on giving full play to the characteristics of new firefighters to accept new things quickly, have a strong sense of democracy, and dare to think and do, listen widely and timely adopt their reasonable opinions and suggestions, and inspire their enthusiasm to devote themselves to education and management. We must insist on carrying out heart-to-heart talks. Timely understand the experiences, ideological understanding, personality traits, interests and hobbies and family conditions of the new firefighters before joining the team, actively carry out psychological counseling, release physical and mental pressure, and understand the daily training, work and life of the new firefighters through observation and understanding, and try to relieve stress for the new firefighters, so that they can devote themselves to training, work and life with better enthusiasm. We must combine psychological work with ideological education. In view of the different experiences of new firefighters before joining the job, we actively carry out psychological counseling education, pay attention to observing and understanding the psychological changes and psychological needs of new firefighters, and follow up on psychological counseling in a timely manner. In combination with the psychological characteristics of the new firefighters, we adopt a combination of organizational self-study and expert lectures and tutoring, and a combination of centralized education and regular education, so that the new firefighters can initially master the psychological knowledge that is guiding their growth and comprehensively improve the psychological quality of the new firefighters.

First, grassroots cadres and backbones must firmly establish a sense of responsibility. Take the initiative to go to the new firefighters in life, care more about them, and be good at discovering problems from trivial matters.At the same time, a survey of new firefighters will be conducted in a timely manner, and individual heart-to-heart talks and questionnaires will be adopted to comprehensively and meticulously grasp the family background, personal experience, marriage and love status of new firefighters; second, various forms of mass evaluation and competitions should be carried out. Organize and carry out psychological relaxation game activities, establish friendship between teammates through team friendship competitions, and encourage new firefighters to overcome the loneliness and dependence caused by staying away from their families, and gradually enhance the self-confidence and positive and healthy mentality of new firefighters; third, organize psychological tests regularly. According to the progress of the new training, psychological inspections will be carried out in stages and mental health records of new firefighters will be established one by one. In response to the potential risks found during the inspection, cadres and backbones will promptly intervene and solve them; fourth, psychological experts should be invited to provide face-to-face psychological counseling in a timely manner. Hire qualified psychological experts to teach in the team, and discover and guide the psychological problems of the commanders and fighters through on-site investigation, communication or experiments. I will teach you some simple self-responsive methods for anxiety, insomnia, and depression, so that everyone can understand how to self-regulate, vent their emotions reasonably, improve their ability to release stress, relieve and eliminate bad emotions, and restore a healthy psychological state.
