What is history? History is left to the future generations to sigh. When I walked into Yujiashitou Village, Weishui Town, Jingxing County, Hebei Province, I saw this small village hidden deep in the arms of the towering Taihang , and couldn't help but send such a question and answer. Because, I never thought that this small village was directly related to the great hero Yu Qian who left his name in history and said that he wanted to leave his innocence in the world."
First talk about this stone village, this small village is completely in the world of stone. When you walk into this village, stone alleys, stone streets, stone courtyards, stone houses, stone railings, stone bridges, stone pavilions, stone buildings, and village roads are also paved with stones, and all the things that catch your eyes are stones. Most of the houses are courtyards, building specifications , with streets from east to west and alleys from north to south. There are six streets, seven alleys and eighteen alleys in the village, and alleys are paved with bluestone. This is a completely stone world, with more than 95% of the villagers. Therefore, Yu Qian's Yu, most of the people here are descendants of Yu Qian.
Everyone knows that Yu Qian (1398-1457) is a national hero of the Ming Dynasty. He is from Qiantang County, Hangzhou Prefecture, Zhejiang Province (now Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province). How did his descendants go from the beautiful Jiangnan to this road without any way, and the news is blocked, as if they are in the northern mountains outside the world?
This matter has to start with Yu Qian.
in the 14th year of Zhengtong (1449), the treacherous minister Wang Zhen betrayed Ming Yingzong undergoes the " Tumen Change", resulting in the annihilation of 500,000 troops of the Ming Dynasty. In the first year of Tianshun (1457), Yingzong was restored, and helmed the charges, falsely accused Yu Qian of plotting to establish the son of King Xiang, beheading Yu Qian and abandoning his body on the street.
Yu's family was confiscated and his family was exiled to the frontier. In order to survive, one of his sons lived in seclusion in the mountains all the way north, and since then he was secluded in the stone village in the deep mountains of Taihang. He had three sons: in Youdao, in the East, and in the South. The three brothers of the Yu family "lived with wood and stones, traveled with deer", started their businesses with a tenacious spirit, built houses with stones, built land and farming, and reproduction, and developed from several families to one village.
Yu Qian's descendants have reproduced for 24 generations. They used natural stones to express their tenacious survival history in the deep mountains. This small village has gone through the vicissitudes of time and has come to this day. This is a portrayal of the spirit of struggle that the descendants of the Yu family have been persevering and passed down from generation to generation, and it is also a great value of life being passed down from generation to generation.
The existing Sihelou Courtyard, Yu Clan Ancestral Hall, Qingliang Pavilion, Guanyin Pavilion, Zhenwu Temple , ancient stages and residential buildings with diverse styles are the essence of ancient villages preserved in the north.
The three-story pavilion in the village was built by Yu Xichun, a descendant of Yu Qian, and it took him 25 years. The entire pavilion was pulled up from dry land, the building was not foundation, and the stone was not carved. It focused on nature and was built according to its shape, making the building look ancient and simple. After more than 500 years of wind and rain, it remains unmoved and becomes more and more vicissitudes and thick. It is a landmark building of Yujia Shitou Village.
Walking in the stone streets and alleys, stroking the thick stone walls, and feeling the tenacious vitality of the descendants of the Yu family "not afraid of being broken into pieces, but keeping their blood in the world." Although history is like the smoke and clouds of the past, it leaves stories that make people think about, recall, learn from, and sigh too much. There are always stories that can touch your heart and resonate with you.
