Chairman Mao attached great importance to the establishment of the Red Army University. As early as early 1936, Chairman Mao proposed at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee to open the China Red Army University based on the former Workers' and Peasants' Red Army School.

After arriving at Miliang Mountain, Xie Zhenhua saw only loess buns like steamed buns, that's all. It can be imagined that the hardships of creating a study are extraordinary. There are only fourteen staff members in the first and second departments led by Luo Ruiqing, and only three full-time teachers. Of course, it is undeniable that these people are elites, backbones, and rare talents.
From then on, Xie Zhenhua began teaching management leadership work as a classroom in the cave and knees as desks. A month later, the enemy invaded in the direction of Wayaobao. The Red Army University was ordered to cover the evacuation of Wayaobao by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and move security guards to the city.

Soon, the Red Army University campus with caves as classrooms and dormitories, stone bricks as tables and chairs, and stone walls as blackboards was finally completed.
Work and study while working, it is also a major feature of the faculty and staff of the Red Army University and later the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University. Lin Biao, Luo Ruiqing and others are not only leaders of the University of Redemption, but also students of the first year of the University of Redemption. In early July 1949, the Central Military Commission transferred Xie Zhenhua to the political commissar of the Second Corps of East China Military and Political University. Before the Central Military Commission issued this order, Chen Yi, who was the commander, political commissar of the Third Field Army of and commander of of East China Military Region, had a special conversation with Xie Zhenhua and wanted to hear his personal opinions.

You are a versatile player in our military education industry, so you won’t come? Who will let it come? Of course, letting you run a school is indeed a need of a new historical mission.
After General Chen's persuasion, Xie Zhenhua replied: "Since you said so, if I don't agree, it will be inappropriate!"
After the Central Military Commission's order was issued, Xie Zhenhua rushed to Suzhou to report to the Second Corps' garrison, met with the commander of the commander Liu Qingming and the comrades in the preparatory office, and quickly started work.
After the founding of in , the Party Central Committee attached great importance to the establishment of military academies. Marshal Liu Bocheng personally presided over the preparation and construction of Nanjing Military Academy . The learning effect was much better than the beginning of teaching directly using textbooks compiled by Soviet consultants.
In 1952, Chairman Mao inspected Nanjing Military Academy for the first time and expressed satisfaction with the work of the academy. In April 1954, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De also inspected the Military Academy for the first time.
