The army is different from other industry groups. It is an armed group with strict discipline, so it is necessary to uniformly dress to ensure orderly command and effective operations of the army. Military uniforms are the standard clothing of military personnel. Through the fabrics, colors and styles of military uniforms, it can not only show the heroic posture of a country's military personnel, but also reveal the political, military, economic, cultural, and technological level of a country. Therefore, each generation of military uniforms is the epitome of an era, imprinted in the hearts of each generation. This article is to recall the history of the military uniforms of the People’s Army and awaken the memories of the times...

On August 1, 1927, the gunshots of the Nanchang Uprising proclaimed the birth of the People’s Army led by the Communist Party of China.

1. The origin of red (1927—1929)

1. During the Nanchang Uprising, the team did not have the time and energy to make new uniforms, and they still wore the costumes of the National Revolutionary Army. Take off the cap badge and tie the red scarf to show the difference. The National Revolutionary Army’s standard clothing is blue-gray, the coat is a tunic, the officers and soldiers wear large brimmed hats, the officers wear long leather boots, and the soldiers wear straw or cloth shoes on their leggings.

2. Participating in the autumn harvest uprising 's team is composed of uprising troops, peasants, and workers. Among them, the uprising troops still wear the original National Revolutionary Army uniforms, but they wear red cloth armbands on their arms to show the difference. The peasants and workers wore their own casual clothes and red armbands with the same designation. In order to distinguish the commander from the soldier, the commander tied a cloth belt around his waist, and the soldier tied hemp rope around his waist.

3. The Guangzhou uprising team is mainly composed of the former National Revolutionary Army teaching corps, guards, workers' red guards and suburban farmers. Among them, the uprising troops wear the original National Revolutionary Army uniforms, and the workers' red guards wear their own costumes. Similarly, the uprising The teams wear red scarves to show the difference.

2. Armed separatism (1929—1937)

4. The early stage of the struggle to establish the Jinggangshan base area,The workers and peasants of the Red Army live very hard. Military uniforms mainly rely on the cloth and cotton collected and seized. There is no uniform standard for the styles of casual clothes produced by ourselves. On April 28, 1928, Jinggangshan reunited in victory, and on May 4, Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army Fourth Army was formally established. In March 1929, the Front Committee of the Fourth Red Army took into account that the "military uniforms" of the Fourth Red Army have been in various forms since the founding of the Red Army. After discussion by the front committee and consideration of its own economic conditions, it was finally determined that the new military uniform style was gray-blue (representing the sky, the ocean, the mountains of Qingdai and the vast land), coarse cloth, the top was a tunic style, and two tops were attached. The bag, the neckline is decorated with a red collar badge, and the collar is embroidered with a black border (it was the fifth anniversary of Lenin's death at that time, and the red collar badge was decorated with black borders to commemorate it); the trousers are ordinary styles with leggings; the military cap is octagonal, Embellished with a red five-star cap badge. This is also the first time that the Red Army has a uniform uniform within the scope of an army.

From November 7 to 20, 1931, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic was established in Ruijin, Jiangxi, and the Red Army in the base area was reorganized into the Central Red Army. During this period, the Red Army clothing tended to be unified. A number of quilt and clothing factories have been established in various base areas. However, due to the enemy's blockade and encirclement, the supply of funds and materials is still relatively difficult. Clothing supply is still tight. In November 1931, the Chinese Soviet Republic was proclaimed. Established its own political power, logistical support has begun to take shape, and the Red Army uniform has been further developed. The uniforms, hats and leggings of the Red Army are all made of grey cloth. The top is tunic and the bottom is suit trousers. Two pieces of red cloth collar badges are sewn on the collar of the military collar (symbolizing the red flag throughout the country), the military cap is changed from a large octagonal Lenin hat to a "small octagonal", and a red cloth five-pointed star is sewn on the center of the cap to symbolize industry, agriculture, and soldiers. , Learning, and business unite to revolution. This Red Army uniform has become a typical Red Army uniform. However, due to economic constraints, the fabrics and colors are still different.

5. During the Long March of the Red Army, most of the clothing factories were disbanded and the machinery and equipment were buried, but only a small part of them moved with the main force of the Red Army. The Red Army fought in enemy-occupied areas, areas inhabited by ethnic minorities, or no-man’s areas, and encountered difficulties that ordinary people could not imagine in dressing and eating. The Red Army can only protect itself during the transition, and even use wool and yak cowhide to make sweaters and leather clothes under difficult conditions. Ensure that the troops reach northern Shaanxi successfully.

6. On November 27, 1931, a new organization of "National Political Security Bureau" was established in the institutional setting of the People's Committee of . In order to be different from ordinary soldiers in the Red Army, the staff of the Security Bureau also adopted special symbols and signs. Not only did they wear a green collar with a red border, but they also wore a badge made of tinplate (extremely silver) with a length of 30 mm and a width of 10 mm, engraved with the three Russian letters "KBU". The title of "Green Collar Troops" began from this point. However, the green collar badge and the Russian bra badge, which had been worn for only about a year, were discontinued.

3. Extremely arduous (1932-1946)

7. The Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces is a heroic people's armed forces led by the Communist Party of China and the longest fighting against the Japanese. The name of the Anti-League was originally called the Red Army. At the beginning, the Anti-Union was included in the Red Army series within the pass, named the 32nd, 33rd, and 34th Army guerrillas of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army. In 1935, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "August 1st" Declaration, proposing that the armed forces of all parties in the country should be called the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, so the Northeast Red Army was renamed the "Anti-Japanese Allied Forces." At that time, the uniforms of the Chinese Red Army imitated the Soviet Red Army. In 1929, the Fourth Red Army in the Central Soviet Area was the first to imitate military uniforms in the style of the red cap badge and red collar badge. Due to the distance between the Northeast and the Ruijin Central Soviet Area in Jiangxi, the Northeast Red Guerillas did not know what the uniforms of the Central Red Army looked like. Because they bordered the Soviet Union, they had seen the uniforms of the Soviet Red Army long ago and believed that this was the proletarian army of the world. Therefore, the uniform style of the Anti-Union Army directly refers to the style of the Soviet military uniform to a large extent.

military cap is a military cap that imitates the Soviet Army Bujunni style. The ears of the cap can be put down to prevent wind and mosquitoes.

8. The military uniforms of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Army also have a red cap badge and a red collar badge. They will also wear a red scarf, a red armband and a chest badge, and even add a red ball to the tip of the hat to highlight the red gene. The cap badge and collar badge are cut out of red cloth, and the badge is printed on mimeograph with white cloth. The overall military uniform is colored by adding dye water in a large pot.Yellow cloth can be dyed with bark, and gray cloth can be dyed with filter water.

9. Because the workmanship and quality of the Japanese and puppet military uniforms are also better, and the styles are also uniform. At that time, the Anti-Japanese Army directly took off its uniforms and shoes against the Japanese and puppet troops that were killed. For the captive puppet army (it is difficult to capture the Japanese army), they were asked to take off their uniforms and shoes, leaving only their underwear, and then they were given 5 yuan for the severance. Red cloth collar badges and cap badges were nailed to the military uniforms that were handed in to distinguish the enemy from ourselves. At the same time, the Anti-League also made their own combat hats similar to the Puppet Manchukuo army, but the appearance was somewhat different. Enemy and counterfeit materials are also recorded against the style of the coalition uniforms. The 20th Mixed Brigade of the Kwantung Army of Japan Showa reported on March 20th in the 11th year (1936): "The Anti-Union army is neatly dressed, all wearing yellow uniforms, much like a full army jacket, wearing a red collar badge."

After 1942, the main force of the Anti-Union Army retired to the Soviet Union and was organized into the 88th Special Brigade of the Soviet Red Army (Anti-Union Teaching Brigade). All officers and men put on Soviet uniforms and used a full set of Soviet weapons. From 1942 to 1945, the Anti-Union Headquarters sent contingents back to the northeast to conduct reconnaissance and raid operations. The task force sent back to the northeast from the Soviet Union had to take off the Soviet military uniform, put on the Japanese military uniform with the red cap and red collar badge, and take the Japanese weapons.

Fourth, the Anti-Japanese Front (1937-1946)

A hundred years of history of the people’s army uniforms, feeling the image of the people’s army in various historical periods (part 1) - DayDayNews

After the outbreak of the all-out War of Resistance in 1937, the two parties cooperated for the second time. The Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army and included in the National Revolutionary Army. Therefore, the uniforms of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army are basically the same as those of the National Revolutionary Army. Military caps are divided into single caps and cotton caps. The common single hat is a straight cylindrical hat wall, a flat round hat top, with a curved brim and a hat ring. Both ends of the cap are joined together by two small buttons, and a round metal cap badge with a "blue sky and white sun" pattern (the National Revolutionary Army cap badge) is studded on the part where the cap is joined just above the front of the hat wall. The brim of a cotton hat is similar to a single hat. The cap is usually tied to the top of the hat in winter. The lower end can reach the neck. It is tied with a buckle and rope to protect the neck and ears. Military jackets are divided into summer clothes and winter clothes. The standard is the same. The officers at all levels have the same standard. It is a stand-up lapel, a single row of five buttons on the front, four patch pockets, and both have flaps. The bottoms of the two upper pockets are round. The bottom two are square; each has a button in the center of the bag mouth. The soldier uniform is basically the same as the officer uniform. The only difference is that a cloth loop is sewn on the left and right sides of the soldier's jacket at the waist.

Due to limited conditions, the colors and materials of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army's clothing are quite different. Because the environment during the Anti-Japanese War was very difficult, each anti-Japanese base area could only make military uniforms based on its own conditions, and the fabrics and dyes that each base area came into contact with were different. The colors and materials of the uniforms of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army cannot be forced to be consistent, and are generally determined by the major strategic areas. The colors of military uniforms are mostly blue-gray and grass yellow. The uniforms of the Eighth Route Army headquarters and the troops of the Shanxi-Gansu-Luyu Military Region are gray; the troops in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region are divided into two types: gray and blue; Jinchaji Military Region troops are khaki; It's khaki; wait. Generally speaking, in the early period of the Anti-Japanese War, most of them were gray, and in the later period, they changed to khaki. For example, the military uniforms of the First and the 20th Division of the Eighth Route Army were gray in the early stage of the War of Resistance. After 1940, because sulfur cyan dyes were not available in enemy-occupied areas, yellow dyes could be extracted from locust seeds and other plants. Since then, the uniforms have been changed. Is yellow.

The armbands of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army are rectangular and worn on the upper arm of the left sleeve of the military uniform. The Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army armbands are most familiar to people than the "Eight Route" and "N4A".

The size of the earliest Eight Route Army armband is 8.5×6.5 cm, white linen bottom, blue printing, with the name "Eight Route" in the middle. The armband I will wear later has only the name "Eight Ways", but there is an oval frame in the middle. The armband worn by the Eighth Route Army in 1938 has the words "Weared for the 27th Year of the Republic of China" at the bottom, and the seal of the unit to which it belongs is stamped on the back. The armband worn by the Eighth Route Army in 1939. The size is 8.6×5.8 cm. The double-layer white cloth is printed with blue characters. The two characters "Eight Road" are printed in the middle of the front. Be loyal to one's duties, strictly observe discipline, practice ism, and complete the revolution." The year the Eighth Route Army armband is worn also has the Gregorian calendar "194",There are also those that should not be worn annually. In the early days, the fonts of "Eight Road" were all italics, but in the later period, they were mostly art. The writing order was originally left-hand script, and later changed to right-hand script.

On September 11, 1937, the National Government Military Committee changed the designation of the "Eighth Route Army" to the "Eighteenth Army" according to the national battle sequence. After that, it produced the Chinese number "Eighteenth Army" armband, its size, pattern design It is basically the same as the armband worn by the Eighth Route Army in 1938, except that the word "Eight Route" in the middle is changed to "Eighteenth Army", and there are columns for division, title, name, and serial number on the back. In the middle and late stages of the Anti-Japanese War, many units of the Eighth Route Army wore the emblem of the National Revolutionary Army at that time. Arabic numerals and symbols were used in the armband to represent the "Eighteenth Army", that is, "18GA" (GA stands for Army). There is also a simple "18GA" armband, without blue background and oval white frame, only "18GA" and matching year. In writing order, Chinese numbers are generally written on the right, and Arabic numbers are written on the left.

The New Fourth Army has worn armbands with various patterns and characters. Shortly after the establishment of the New Fourth Army in October 1937, the New Fourth Army armband designed by art worker Lu Meng and others had a warrior with a hat on his back and a gun with his left hand holding a gun and pointing his right hand forward. The word "anti-enemy" was marked in the lower left corner to indicate the southern provinces. The Red Army guerrillas were reorganized into the New Fourth Army's determination to go to the front line to fight against Japan. This was the original New Fourth Army armband. After a period of time, the team developed. In order to reflect that the New Fourth Army was advancing from the north to the south to carry out anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare, the new armband was based on a marching New Fourth Army as a pattern. The upper part was marked with the abbreviation "N4A" of the New Fourth Army: N is the English NEW (meaning new). The initial letter, 4 (representing the Chinese "four" character), A is the initial letter of the English army (Army) (also the code name of the army). The bottom right is marked "Republic of China for 28 years", that is, it was used in 1939. In early 1941, after the Southern Anhui Incident, the New Fourth Army’s military headquarters was rebuilt in Yancheng. Art worker Zhuang Wuzhou, who taught at the Luyi Huazhong Branch, was ordered to redesign the New Fourth Army armband, borrowing from the 1939 "N4A" armband, and referring to the Eighth Route Army armband style, "N4A" The backing is a white ellipse, with a five-star added to the upper left and right corners, and "1941" is marked in the middle. The whole armband is black and white, solemn and solemn, to commemorate the martyrs who died in the Southern Anhui Incident. soon,The "N4A" armband in 1941 was simplified to a blue and white armband with only the words "N4A". This type of armband is printed with lithography, with simple and smooth lines and blue lettering on a white background. The new "N4A" armband was soon widely used in the New Fourth Army and became the most familiar New Fourth Army armband.

At that time, the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army also issued the same badge, cloth and rectangular as the National Revolutionary Army. In addition to the cloth badges, the personnel of the Eighth Route Army headquarters have also issued the same round badges as the National Government. The badges are made of copper and have a diameter of 3.2 to 3.4 cm. They have the "Eighteenth Army of the Army" (or "Eighteenth Army") and The words "General Headquarters", and some also have the words "Eighth Route Army" or the "Blue Sky and White Sun" pattern. This kind of metal badge is a kind of identification badge, worn on the left chest, also called a badge, and is generally issued for personnel of the headquarters and other agencies.

In the early days of the Liberation War , each field army was no longer wearing the uniform style of the army uniform of the Eight Route Army. Due to the continuous blockade of the Kuomintang, cloth and paint are becoming more and more difficult. All troops make their own uniforms, so it is impossible to form a unified People’s Liberation Army uniform. Just like trousers. To say that the uniform material is the best and the most uniform, it has to be Siye. Northeast People’s Liberation Army relies on the production capacity of major factories in the Northeast Liberated Area to produce high-quality military uniforms. The khaki-based military uniforms are superior to other liberated areas in terms of materials and styles. The most distinctive feature is the winter dog skin cotton hats. Become a generation of classic styles.

On November 1, 1948, the Central Military Commission issued the general order , which unified the organization and designation of the entire army. In December, the Logistics Department of the Military Commission held an all-army logistics meeting,Uniform regulations have been made for the style, color, and size of the military uniforms of the entire army. In 1949, the color of our army's clothing was determined to be grass green, the material was cotton plain cloth, and the hat was a round short-brimmed hat. This kind of hat was later called the "Liberation Hat" and wore the Bayi Red five-star metal cap badge. Wear the "Chinese People's Liberation Army" badge on the chest. Military uniforms are divided into cadres, soldiers, artillery and cavalry. The cadre's clothing has two upper pockets and two lower patch pockets; the soldier's jacket has four outer patch pockets, the shoulders are added with supplementary cloth, the lower clothing is tied with leggings, the artillery and cavalry lowers are breeches, and the cavalry wears leather boots.

VI. Masters of the House (1950-1955)

The founding ceremony of the country was successfully held in 1949. The Chinese people announced to the world that they were the masters of the country, and the People’s Army was also strong and powerful, from a single service to the army. Combining arms to regularize the transformation of the army. In order to adapt to the normalization of the People's Army, the Central Military Commission decided to unify the uniforms of the entire army as soon as possible. In January 1950, the Central Military Commission was approved to implement the new military uniform style "Fifty Zero Military Uniform." This was the first time that our army had unified equipment, unified standards, and unified standard military uniforms.

A hundred years of history of the people’s army uniforms, feeling the image of the people’s army in various historical periods (part 1) - DayDayNews

At the beginning of the design of the new military uniforms, due to time constraints and heavy tasks, the materials and styles are relatively simple. The material is uniformly made of plain cotton cloth with four-eye black buttons. The officers and soldiers wear large brimmed hats, and the sailors wear sailor hats . The male cadre's jacket is an improved Chinese tunic style, with two concealed pockets on the chest (four pockets for air force cadres), trousers and leather shoes as the bottom. The color of the military uniforms is grass green for the army, navy blue for the navy, grass green for the top of the air force, and navy blue for the bottom trousers. Army soldiers are hooded tops, which are based on the design of Soviet military uniforms during World War II. Infantrymen are suit trousers and cavalrymen are breeches. The navy soldier wears a sailor suit. The air force soldiers were in an improved tunic style, with two buckled pockets on the front of the jacket, and the soldiers distributed round-mouth cloth shoes or cloth rubber shoes (later Jiefang shoes).

The female military officers and soldiers are the same, wearing a Braj-style pullover dress in summer and a double-breasted Lenin dress in winter.

In August 1950, the 50-style military uniform made an improvement,The fabrics have been improved, the army regiment level uses coarse cloth, and the division level and above use fine cloth. The naval battalion-level and below use coarse wool, and the battalion-level and above use fine wool. Navy naval soldiers are issued with leather shoes and velvet caps with eaves. Air force battalion level and above use fine cloth and copper buttons, and the officers and soldiers uniformly distribute leather shoes. From the perspective of this improvement, although the country was not wealthy at the time, it gave the two new naval and air services relatively high-standard treatment, which is enough to prove the country's determination to develop the navy and air force.

In 1951, the navy and air force began to use the new exclusive cap badge, but the five-star and eight-one cap badge on the sailor cap was inconvenient, and the navy officer's summer uniform was changed to a white coat.

Practice is the only standard for testing truth, and the battlefield is the only standard for testing military uniforms. With the deepening of 's battle to resist US aggression and aid Korea, as well as the continuation of the fighting against bandits in the southwest, the drawbacks of the 50-style military uniform began to be revealed. For example, the soldiers reported that wearing a big brimmed hat is not conducive to running and fighting, and a pullover top is not conducive to putting on and taking off the wounded in the treatment of the wounded. In the winter clothes, cotton scurrying under fierce movements does not keep warm, and there are problems such as a brimmed cotton hat blocking the line of sight. For combat needs, the 50-style military uniforms were improved as follows: In 1951, the combat troops issued additional liberation caps, and in 1952 they replaced the large brimmed hats; the men's soldiers abolished the hooded tight-cuffed tops and changed to the front-opening and loose-cuff styles; on the Korean battlefield , The winter clothes were changed to a multi-track stitching version, which effectively fixed the stability of the cotton lining, the eaves planted down hat was changed to a beanie, and the ear holes on both sides were added; the female soldier canceled the summer braj-style dress, Changed to the same Lenin style as the winter clothes, wearing a soft hat. Beginning in 1953, female navy soldiers also wore sailor uniforms and sailor caps.

With the addition of new arms such as armored forces and pilots, the 50-style military uniform also adds the special military uniform , such as the 50-style winter and summer flight suits and the 50-style tank overalls. Also after the baptism of the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea, it was found that the one-piece clothing was not conducive to putting on and taking off and the treatment of injuries, so it was changed to a split type.

50-style military uniforms also set up a dress series,However, it is not much different from regular clothes, except that the fabric is slightly better, the buttons are replaced with copper buckles, and there is no large-scale distribution due to economic reasons. However, as an international service, the Navy took the lead in alloting sailor gowns. The sailor dress adopts the style of navy summer clothes, the top and the pants are all white, and the fabric is fine woolen cloth. Similarly, those who have more opportunities to wear dresses are comrades engaged in foreign work and literature and art work. The 50-style military uniforms are also specially made for those engaged in such work. The fabrics are duffles or fines. Male soldiers wear large brimmed hats, Soviet-style pullovers, breeches and long leather boots; female soldiers wear blue skirts. , Wearing a soft hat and long leather boots. On formal occasions, men and women are required to wear armed belts. In June 1953, the honor guard of the People's Liberation Army was established, and the dress design was given full attention.

7. Military rank glory (1955-1965)

In 1955, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army implemented the "three major systems", namely the military rank system, salary system, and compulsory military service system; the "Military Service Law of the People's Republic of China" and " Chinese People’s Liberation Army Officers Service Regulations "; and on a large scale throughout the army to award medals and medals to the heroes of the Revolutionary War period. At the same time, in order to cooperate with the implementation of the military rank system, the whole army is equipped with the new military rank clothing "five-five military uniforms."

55-style military uniforms is divided into two series of dresses and ordinary uniforms, which has changed the history of our army's single-standard clothing. With the 55-style military rank, this dress beautifies the military appearance of our army and comprehensively enhances the image of the army. It can be said to strengthen our army's power and display our country's power.

The generals' dresses are made of exquisite pure wool and majestic woolen cloth,The school official fabric is made of pure wool serge. The marshal's dress and army and air force generals' dresses are navy blue, and the navy's officers are navy blue. The tuxedo adopts the style of a suit, with a large lapels and a double row of six golden buttons. Two flat pockets with flaps under the jacket. The bottom of the men's dress is trousers and leather shoes, and the bottom of the women's dress is a black skirt and high-barreled leather shoes. The dress is worn on important ceremonial occasions or when visiting the pot, wearing a white shirt, a navy blue tie, and white gloves.

55-style dresses were also divided into No. 1 (large) dresses, No. 2 (small) dresses, and No. 3 (summer) dresses. No. 2 and No. 3 were only allocated to generals and above. The second dress is also known as a small dress. It is not suitable for wearing the first dress when going abroad, foreign affairs activities or other important occasions. The biggest difference is that the color of the marshal, army and air force generals is changed to silver gray, and the navy is slightly lighter than the color of the dress number one, and it is still navy blue. In other respects, No. 2 and No. 3 dresses have simplified the accessories of No. 1 dress and wear medals and badges. Dress No. 3 is a summer dress, made of pure thin wool serge, and wear light-colored socks and leather sandals when wearing dress No. 3. After 1958, the second and third dresses were cancelled, and the general's white summer uniform was changed to summer dress.

Limited by the economic conditions of the country at that time, 55-style gowns were basically only distributed to officers above the school officer in China, while the lieutenant's big gowns were only distributed to military attachés stationed abroad or members of military delegations abroad. The quantity is very small. As for the female lieutenant's tuxedo, there is no information that it has been distributed, but I saw it in a domestic TV series. Therefore, military and air force lieutenants also wear regular clothes when attending important occasions. The navy has more international exchanges, so the 55-style military uniforms are also allotted with gowns for naval service officers and sailors. The overall style is the same as that of the normal uniforms, except that the color tone becomes all white on the top and bottom. In addition, the art troupe, guard of honor, and sports team also have performance costumes similar to dresses. The style is basically the same as that of regular clothes, and the fabric is better. The female performance costumes with bow ties are a highlight.

Compared with dresses, the complexity of 55-style uniforms is not low, and there are differences in various fabrics and logos. On the fabric, the summer uniforms of the marshals and generals are pure wool serge, the school officers are silk fabric, and the lieutenant and soldier-style twill . In color, the army is brown-green all over; the navy is dark blue in winter, white and dark blue in summer; and the air force is brown-green up and dark blue in the lower part.In terms of style, the male officer wears a large brimmed hat and a tunic-style jacket with a small lapel collar. There are five buttons in a row and four concealed pockets on top and bottom. Summer clothes are trousers and leather shoes (breeches and leather boots for army cavalry and armored soldiers, and breeches and leather boots for airborne troops of the Air Force). Female officers usually wear Yang Shiwei with a small lapels, three buttons, two lower pockets, and a soft hat (there are also high-level female officers wearing big hats). Regardless of male and female officers, the colonel must wear an armed belt when wearing regular uniforms.

The army and air force men's uniform jacket is a tunic style with a small lapel collar. The jacket has two concealed pockets with exposed buttons, cuffs with tight cuffs, and an outer belt with a tie. The bottoms are trousers and liberation shoes, and cloth cotton shoes are used in winter (cavalry, armored, and paratroopers are breeches and leather boots. Note that the height of the boots of the three arms is different, the longest for cavalry and the shortest for paratroopers) . Wear a boat-shaped hat, and a cotton woolen hat in winter. Army and Air Force soldiers have no shoulder loops on their clothes because they only wear a badge of rank.

Female soldiers' uniforms are not as complicated as men's soldiers, and there is no difference in arms. Female soldiers are the same as female officers, except that they don't have epaulettes, they only wear collars, and they wear rubber-soled velveteen open shoes or lace-up shoes and Jiefang shoes.

The high-level officer coat has a large lapel, a fur collar can be hung on it, a large shoulder pad, a double row of ten buttons, two flat pockets with a lid, a horizontal waistband on the back, and a double-folded hem. The coats of the lower-ranking officers have a slightly smaller lapel, no horizontal belt, and a buttoned slit at the hem. The coats of the Army and Air Force soldiers are similar in appearance to the coats of lower-level officers. The pockets have become oblique pockets, and only the coat collar badge is worn. The navy shore service coat is the same as that of the army and air force, but with large epaulettes. The navy sailor's coat became a single row of five buttons.
