During the period from 2005 to 2006, although Liu Lingzui failed to rise, fortunately, Hebei's "second" wine king Congtai wine began to rise in adversity. As the first winery in Hebei Province that was successfully restructured, Congtai Liquor successfully squeezed into the top 20 liquor companies with annual tax payments of over 100 million yuan in 2000, and successfully "taken over" Liu Lingzui and became the number one "wine king" in Hebei Province. However, before Congtai Liquor can show its strength, the issuance of strict orders such as the consumption tax on liquor, the ban on alcohol, and the increase in fake liquor have seriously compressed Congtai Liquor's market occupation and shrinked rapidly.


Then Hengshui Laobaigan, which "drinks a manly flavor", emerged from nowhere, and became the third Hebei "Wine King" with a famous wine company with annual sales of 4.03 billion yuan. The main consumer market of the old Baigan in Hengshui is still in Hebei Province, and it is slightly less well-known in places outside Hebei Province.

In order to seize more liquor markets, Hengshui Laobaigan actually did a lot of things that make people confused, such as "touching the porcelain" Moutai, and mainly promoted high-end products such as "Hengshui Laobaigan 1915" that are sold more expensive than Feitian Moutai's guide price. Hengshui Laobaigan 1915 is 500ml/bottle, which has three different alcohol concentration series, 39 degrees, 53.9 degrees and 67 degrees. The price on Taobao is 39 degrees and 1688 yuan/bottle, 53.9 degrees and 2488 yuan/bottle, and 67 degrees and 3288 yuan/bottle.

The reason why Hengshui Laobaigan dared to set such a high price in 1915 is because at the 1915 Panama Ten Thousand Nations Expo , Hengshui Laobaigan's predecessor, " Zhili Provincial (official office) sorghum wine", won the "Panama Exhibition (A Class) Medal", that is, Hengshui Laobaigan surpassed Maotai in 1915, and Wuliangye , becoming the only white wine in my country that won the highest honor of the Panama Exhibition.

Interestingly, this wine did not continue the previous advertising slogan - "drink a manly flavor", but "the gold medal won by the Panama World Expo in 1915 was not the sauce-flavored wine, but the old Baigan of Hengshui." You should know that it was because Moutai brought up the "sauce and wine craze", so many wine friends complained that Lao Baigan was "hitting the porcelain" of Moutai.

Even so, the market of Hengshui Laobaigan is shrinking. According to relevant data, in 2020, Hengshui Laobaigan's total operating income was 3.6 billion yuan, while in 2019 it was about 4 billion yuan; in 2021, it was 3 billion yuan, which shows that it is now on a downward trend. Lao Baigan's sales have been going downward, and its revenue has shown a downward trend.

Although the old Baigan of Hengshui is still the third "wine king" in Hebei, the rise of wine companies in the province, and the operation pressure is very high under the "smacking" of foreign wines such as Moutai, Wuliangye, Jiannanchun , Yanghe , etc. If you firmly stick to the Hebei market, you will probably be able to stick to it for a few years before making a judgment. It will be quite difficult to break out of Hebei and go to the whole country.
