My name is Zhao Zhikuan, a native of Guangxi. After graduating from high school, my relatives introduced me to work in a coal mine. I have been working in a coal mine for 10 years. There is no freedom and romance in youth, and I can only deal with coal.
The longer I work in this job, the more scared I become. After all, there are certain risks in coal miners. Moreover, I am not young yet, but I have never had a relationship with someone, which is somewhat bad. My parents also hoped that relatives would introduce me to a partner, but due to the nature of work and being away from home for a long time, they all ended in failure.
When I was 28 years old, I quit my job and came to Guangzhou to work. My fear and discomfort with big cities made me want to return to work in a coal mine, but of course I didn't do so in the end.
I worked hard to adapt to society and worked hard, and later I met many friends. Among them was a friend from Nanyang, Henan Province. A fellow of his worked hard in Africa and lived a good life. However, in the sixth year after I arrived in Angola, I married a local daughter-in-law, who spent seven to eight thousand yuan and gave birth to a lovely son and a beautiful daughter. Now I have worked hard in Angola for 16 years, and there are many fellow villagers here. We often get together to discuss life. No matter how we live abroad, our longing for our hometown never stops.
Sometimes I want to go back to my country, but I don’t know what to do, so I can only settle for the status quo and work hard to live.
