Security, for me at the conscious level, exists both materially and spiritually. It was also one of the important factors that influenced the direction of my life.
The sage once said that the economic base of determines the superstructure . Guanzi also said that if you have a solid warehouse, you will know etiquette, and if you have enough food and clothing, you will know honor and disgrace. Civilization is built on material foundations, and economic development determines the progress of civilization. This implies that when people do not have the basic guarantee for survival, they require knowledge of etiquette, integrity, honor and disgrace, which are all unrealistic and utopian. Throughout the ages, everything from countries to individuals has followed this underlying logic. Extreme money worship, poetry and the supreme being from afar are only one side of "Rashomon", that is, one side they want us to see, rather than an objective and complete one.
I am a person with a strong sense of crisis, and I was hesitant about whether to buy a house. After an in-depth exploration and comparative analysis of the sense of security and self, a self-consistent decision was made. In terms of materials, I am limited to basic survival guarantees - minimalist and detached basic necessities. Without basic protection, my spiritual world that seems to be standing tall cannot actually withstand the cruel impact of reality. Material independence is the foundation. Without a basic completion of material things, talking about spiritual independence is too thin.
Exploring the unconscious aspects of self-needs, based on the fear of impermanence, is the inseparable companion of security. Explore ways to satisfy yourself:
1. Forge your own skills, and the value of your skills is at the same level or ahead of market demand. Whether you are in the workplace or want to retire, and come back one day, you can survive in this era and society, then It’s time to talk about your spiritual architecture or other things you want;
2, read history and philosophy, be knowledgeable about the past and present, strengthen your self-function, understand the laws of historical development and underlying logic, be fearless of the future, accept the impermanence of the world, increase wisdom, and cultivate a sense of security.
The true sense of security comes from one's own peace of mind and stability, not from fate or donations from others.
