Yesterday afternoon, my mother and I went to visit her sister, my aunt, and brought her some vegetables grown at home.

My aunt and my mother used to teach in my hometown, and we lived across the street from each other, so we had a very good relationship. Later, our family moved to the outskirts of the city, and her family also moved to the city, so there were not many opportunities to meet.

We didn’t go to my aunt’s house, but stayed on the side of the road for a while, because my aunt had a lung disease and had a very weak immune system, and we were afraid that strangers would introduce bacteria and cause infection.

As soon as I met my aunt, she started complaining about her grandson. Her grandson was in high school, but she was disobedient and couldn't be controlled when she got older. She cried several times because of the pressure. She was so stressed that she really wanted to run away from home and no one would care about her.

My mother and I advised her not to run away from home, and she had to take care of her uncle. She couldn't go out, and she couldn't live alone.

It’s not easy for my aunt. She has a disabled son. When the child was born, the cerebellum was injured by forceps. He cannot walk very steadily, but his brain is the same as that of a normal person.

My aunt also has a daughter. She works as a doctor in the hospital and has already started a family, so she doesn’t need to worry about it.

Auntie is very strong-willed. Although her son is disabled, she still wants him to live a normal life. Many years ago, she married her son to a wife from out of town, gave birth to two children, a son and a daughter, and the family became lively.

Ever since she had grandchildren, her aunt has done all the housework, washing, cooking, and picking up the children. She also loves her daughter-in-law in every possible way. However, a few years ago, her daughter-in-law still left two children and got divorced.

12 years ago, my aunt's wife contracted a lung disease and was unable to do heavy work or go out. Now she can't breathe even after speaking a few words. There is an oxygen inhaler at home, and she cannot have contact with outsiders.

The two children are all supported by the aunt, and she also has to take care of the sick wife. Although the old couple has pensions, they can financially support the family's life.

But when the children are older, it is difficult to discipline them. When her grandson was in high school and school was not open during the epidemic, she could not control her child playing with his mobile phone all night. She cried several times because of this and really wanted to run away from home.

Actually, I know that my aunt will not run away from home. How could she be willing to leave? The family still needs her to take care of them, but the aunt is just too tired to complain.

I particularly admire my aunt. She always wanted her son to live a normal life, and she was willing to pay no matter how much she had to do. In order to give her son a normal family, she bent over from exhaustion and turned her head white. This is the power of a mother who does her best for the family.

The 70-year-old aunt has been working hard all her life and should have lived a leisurely retirement life. However, she still has to raise her children and take care of her husband like a young person, without taking a day off.

I often see young people nowadays wanting to give up their lives because they are under great pressure and can’t think straight.

Each of us has misfortunes of one kind or another in our lives. If we face them bravely and work hard to change the status quo, I believe there are no difficulties that cannot be overcome.
