In July this year, Xiaomi officially released the first one-inch flagship mobile phone in domestic mobile phones, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Today, Xiaomi played a new trick on this mobile phone and showed off a Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept phone.
The main change of this Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept machine is the rear camera area, which removes the 48-megapixel periscope telephoto and moves the ultra-wide-angle secondary camera to the telephoto area. At the same time, a one-inch direct light CMOS is placed in the middle position. The rear camera module area can be directly connected to the M-mount lens of Leica for shooting.
At first glance, this operation is very similar to the previous Panasonic CM1 phones. It can also connect to Leica lens . However, since CMOS is only one inch in size, the convenience of adapting and shooting is obviously not as convenient as a fixed camera. Although it can be adapted to Leica lenses to achieve better imaging quality, since it is a one-inch bottom, it is actually not very meaningful to adapt to the full-frame Leica lens. If it is the large bottom of the M43 frame, perhaps there are more professional photography.
Secondly, users who have played with Leica M-mount range-axis camera should know that Leica's range-axis camera is focused through macular linkage ranging method. Therefore, this concept machine of Xiaomi does not support the automatic focus function of adapting Leica lenses. It can only rely on the built-in peak focus for view focus. If the bayonet is a Sony E-mount, it can also be adapted to the Tiangong ring for automatic focus.
Overall, this concept machine is indeed quite conceptual, and it is wise for Xiaomi to not invest in its mass production. Of course, we still hope that Xiaomi can continue to explore this type of concept machine, and strive to set off a counterattack for domestic brands in professional influence on the market.
