When many technology giants such as Apple announced the establishment of data centers in Guizhou Province, China, many people began to notice the importance of data centers. It can be said to be the survival foundation of many technology companies today, so this makes many technology companies attach great importance to the construction of data centers.
After seeing the importance of data centers, China's national data center was naturally unwilling to fall behind and began to expand continuously. This made the amount of data stored in China's data centers amazing, and once became China's largest data center. However, the power consumption of such a data center in one year was also very amazing, even exceeding the total power generation of the Three Gorges Dam in one year.
High energy consumption is a feature of the data center, and there is another feature worth noting, that is, the heat generated by the data center during work is amazing, which makes the temperature of the data center very high, so it must be cooled down. So what will China data centers use to cool down the data computers at work?
. Dry air cooling method
Because China's data center carries the national data storage work, its annual power consumption has exceeded the total power generation of the Three Gorges Dam in one year, which makes the heat it emits very amazing. When the data center works every day, its CPU far exceeds that of today's general personal computers, so the heat emitted by these units is also very amazing. How to cool down the units of the data center has become a problem.
In order to cope with the CPU damage caused by the high temperature of the data center, Chinese R&D personnel have developed a dry air method to cool down, which allows the air to be sucked in through the absorption pump and cooled down by evaporating and drying, and then dissipating from the unified air outlet to the computer room of the data center, thereby achieving effective cooling of the computer room of the data center.
This method is somewhat similar to central air conditioning. However, because the data center has a large workload and generates a lot of heat, relying solely on dry air to cool down is obviously not enough. Therefore, the R&D personnel have begun to improve the efficiency of the air cooling method to minimize the core temperature of the unit.
The lowest temperature that dry air can reach is generally around minus five degrees, which is much stronger than the refrigeration effect of ordinary central air conditioners. It can also be seen that the core temperature of the unit in the data center is high. Because the larger the data volume, the higher the computing load of the data center will be, which makes the data center, which increases the amount of data every day, rises steadily in the core temperature.
5 degrees below zero air heat dissipation method can achieve uniform distribution to the greatest extent and ensure that every core component of the unit is cooled down, there is an air dispersion system, which allows the cooled cold air to be evenly distributed to every component in the unit that needs to be cooled down, thereby achieving temperature balance in the unit and not achieving temperature difference in the unit. The air dispersion system of
has also become a necessary accessory for the dry air refrigeration method, which will provide the first round of cooling for the large computer room of the data center, so that the unit will not cause component damage due to excessive temperatures.
2. Cooling liquid circulation refrigeration method
After air refrigeration, the units in the data center can only say that they did not cause component damage due to high temperature, but they will inevitably cause abnormal unit operation due to component damage, resulting in reduced working efficiency. Therefore, in order to continuously ensure the working efficiency of the data center unit, the second type of refrigeration method has to be adopted, which is the cold liquid circulation refrigeration method. The efficiency of using cold liquid cooling is higher than that of air cooling method, and the cooling effect is more uniform. Therefore, this method is also a black technology in cooling. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand that China's data center chooses this method to achieve unit cooling.
Cooling liquid circulation refrigeration method originated from Google 's exploration of new refrigeration methods in data center computer rooms. In order to effectively realize refrigeration, Google directly built the data center on the seabed of Baltic Sea , so that the Baltic Sea has only a water temperature of less than 10 degrees soaking this data center that constantly emits heat.
However, there are certainly risks in doing so. After all, the environment under the sea cannot be monitored in real time. If there is a problem with the data center unit, it will face the risk of complete data loss. This is a result that no technology company wants to see at present.
So after comparing these risk factors and the pros and cons of the refrigeration method, the Chinese data center decided to create its unique cold liquid circulation refrigeration method. The main process is to use the high-pressure water pump to continuously release the refrigeration liquid and atomize it near the pipeline near the core working unit, and use the cold liquid atomization method to achieve continuous cooling of the unit. After atomization, the coolant will soon condense after contacting the unit that emits high temperature, forming a liquid and flowing back into the pipeline. After the pump pump is refluxed, it will condense again to realize circulating refrigeration.
With this black technology of circular refrigeration, although the units of China's data centers will continuously emit high heat after facing high loads every day, after continuous circular refrigeration, the temperature stability of the core working unit can be quickly achieved, allowing the data working unit to work normally and stably. This makes China's data centers a step ahead in this regard and realize a step ahead in the future data era.
After seeing the importance of data centers, China has also invested considerable in data center construction, so many black technologies have been born, among which black technologies that cool down data center units are one of them.
This allows China's data center to use two methods: air refrigeration and cold liquid circulation refrigeration to achieve stable refrigeration of data center units, so that the temperature of the core working unit always remains within a reasonable temperature range. This is very important for the continuous work of the working unit, and also makes the seemingly inconspicuous cooling black technology actually a very important part of the construction of data centers.
