According to a research firm, three Twitter executives fired by Elon Musk may receive a bonus worth $122 million.
After ending a month-long acquisition legend to control the social media giant, Musk immediately fired Twitter CEO Palag Agra Varvar , Treasurer Ned Siegel and head of legal affairs and policy Vijaya Gard.
The Tesla tycoon accused executives of misleading him and a buyer consortium on the number of fake accounts on the platform.
However, according to a report by executive compensation research expert Equilar, the three could receive a generous “golden parachute” payment, with Agrawal reportedly receiving $57.4 million in payments. The company estimates Segal’s payments to be $44.5 million, while Gadde’s payments to be $20 million.
The three executives will also receive $65 million from Musk in exchange for their holdings in the company. Gadde's shares are the highest value at $34.8 million, followed by Segal's $22 million and Agrawal's $8.4 million.
After months of wrestling with one of the most dramatic acquisition wars in history, Musk closed the deal on Friday. The billionaire has repeatedly threatened to exit the deal before eventually completing the acquisition on the original terms.
