From 9:00 to 11:30 am on November 19, 2022, I took the comprehensive examination of the basic training of psychological counselors in the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and successfully passed the examination (73.70 points, if you exceed 60 points, there are a total of 300 questions, including 250 single-choice questions and 50 multi-choice questions, which involve two comprehensive questions for psychological counseling case analysis). The final test score is expected, because I myself used a clever way to complete this somewhat complicated thing. Below is an introduction to the background significance and related processes of taking this exam.
1. Background meaning
Psychological counselors have been in the national vocational qualification examination type since 2005. In 2017, they withdrew from the National Vocational Qualification Examination Catalog of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and changed to professional institutions to evaluate their occupational ratings. I was preparing to take such exams in the past two years. Through research, I found that exams like psychological counselors are very related to my life and work. They involve all aspects of daily life and work. Later I learned that psychology is a specialized subject separated from philosophy and has become a branch of science. Of course, it is a bit difficult for a layman like me. Although I took psychology for half a year in college, many psychological terms and internal meanings are obscure. I once taught myself a book called "General Psychology", but basically I forgot what I saw later. I didn't really figure it out, it may be because of no pressure.
After research and searching for information, it has gained some insight into the current psychological counselor examination . The current comprehensive examination for basic training of psychological counselors organized by the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences basically originates from the content of the original national professional qualification examination. The original reference books (2 books) are appropriately streamlined and enriched, so that the current psychological counselor examination is more practical and the relevant words are more accurate and practical.
2. Preparation process
After learning about the comprehensive examination of the basic training of psychological counselors in the Institute of Psychology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences began to apply. On the website of the Basic Training System of the Institute of Psychology and Psychology Consultant of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, we found the Guangzhou Psychology Consultant Association, an authorized training institution in Guangdong Province. The association is also a professor and expert who has participated in the National Vocational Qualification Examination of Psychology Consultant in Guangdong Province. It has a rich background in practice and implementation. Later, it has been further verified in specific learning and practice.
Basic training for psychological counselors in the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences requires the following three steps:
Step 1: Through video learning or self-study, complete 10 units of self-test, and each unit must exceed 70 points, which is also the basic requirement for the third step of registration for the exam.
This part is the most basic and must be studied seriously. I basically read the book first (2 books, 10 days), printed out the self-test questions in 10 units, did the questions by myself (5 days), and sorted out the knowledge points again. On the premise of meeting 70 points, go to the training system website to complete 10 units of self-tests. This step takes at least 15 days. During this period, you may have to participate in online and offline training and explanations organized by cooperative institutions. I did not read the video courses and felt that there was no need for me. It is better to read the book carefully first.
Step 2: Participate in the observation and learning of cooperative training institutions (offline or online), and according to the observation and interaction, the cooperative institution will score (more than 60 points), and the cooperative institution will upload the training system website based on the scoring situation.
Step 3: After completing the above two steps, register according to the requirements of the training system and take the comprehensive basic knowledge examination. This exam must reach more than 60 points. I signed up on September 20 and took the November 19 exam. After registration, I didn’t do this until November 9, because there are two online professional qualification examinations (data security engineer, public nutritionist ) from September 21 to November 9. From November 10th to November 18th, three sets of simulation questions (300 questions per set) were completed, and the original knowledge points learned were combined with the simulation questions were memorized and sorted out, and the knowledge points were further strengthened and organized. The questions in each set of simulation questions are found in the books, and they are learned from each other and expand the scope of knowledge points. This is equivalent to comprehensively sorting out the original two books and classifying and mastering the knowledge points.I have a strong short-term memory ability, and this method is more suitable for me.
3. Take the exam
2022 from November 10 to 18, 2022 to conduct two equipment debugging and mock exams (November 12 is a comprehensive mock test), and be familiar with the types and key points of the exam. Below I excerpt the relevant notifications for equipment debugging and mock exams at that time for reference.
[Equipment debugging time]: November 10, 11, 17, 18 All day, 12 afternoon

Note: 1. Manual customer service can contact us through the "Technical Support" on the right side of the software to be responsible for solving technical problems such as equipment or operations;
2. Manual customer service can also debug the equipment during the period when it is not online. The equipment debugging time is open all day on the same day.
[Simulation test time]: November 12, 9:00-11:30 am
Note: 1. Try to take the mock test if you can. If you can't take the mock test, it will not affect the exam;
2. The mock test cannot be obtained, and it is only set as the test equipment debugging and familiar with the exam process.
It is best to take the mock exam on the morning of November 12th, because the mock exams here come from 6 sets of mock exams and exam types that have been tested. After mastering the relevant types, you will be targeted in the formal exam.
11 November 19th at 9:00 am. It is best to have a early rest the night before yesterday to ensure adequate sleep. Eat a little full breakfast (eating breakfast is better!!!) At 8:30, all equipment should be debugged and entered the examination status. Don’t be in a hurry during the exam. When you encounter something you don’t understand or have a deep memory, remember the content or knowledge points you have seen. Some questions can be analyzed to obtain correct answers. In this exam, the multi-choice answer with sound characteristics is through this analysis method. There are 300 questions in the exam, divided into 12 units, each unit has 25 questions, the first 10 units are single-choice questions, and the last 2 units are multi-choice questions. After each unit is completed, it is confirmed and entered into another unit, and cannot return to the previous unit to modify. This may cause pressure for people with hesitant personalities. When doing such a type of question, you must be decisive. Often, the feeling at first glance is very important. I have several questions this time, but I am corrected wrongly after hesitating.
After the exam is completed, the paper will be decisively handed over and the itinerary code will be saved for future review. When recalling the exam questions later, I found some mistakes and don’t think about them anymore. After the exam, it is considered to be a big thing. I predicted that this exam would be around 70 points, but in the end there was not much difference from the self-test.
4. Outlook after the exam
Although this comprehensive examination of basic knowledge of psychological counselors has been carried out, this is just the first step towards the field of psychology. It also requires continuous in-depth, practice, evaluation, and application. For example, in the technical field, how to use user experience in psychology; in the business field, how to carry out user marketing in psychology, etc., all of which require continuous practice and thinking, and this is especially true when making decisions. The next step is to participate in case review of cooperative institutions. This is a training that combines theory with practice, and I hope it can be passed smoothly.
