Today introduces the second psychological card: Perception
Definition: Perception is the understanding of things that are directly acting on the sensory organs and are produced in the mind of things Overall .
Perception and feeling are only one word different, but they are two completely different concepts! The most obvious difference between
:
feels that it is the understanding of individual attributes VS Perception is the understanding of overall attributes
Example:
Continue to the example used in the first card. Last time we felt red on the roadside, then now we look closer and see that it is red, soft, furry, about 120cm long and about 20cm wide. Through our understanding of these overall attributes, we confirm that it is a scarf. I don’t know who accidentally fell to the ground.
A careful friend may say, as you say, isn’t perception equal to feeling adding? Isn’t adding the individual properties of the felt object a whole property or perception?
The friend who can find this is very smart, but his intelligence is just mistaken for being smart haha!
Perception is not a simple addition of feelings, instead integrates individual experience, Perception is based on sensation but is higher than sensation.
For example, if a person has never seen a scarf and does not know what a scarf is, then even if he feels all the individual attributes of the object in front of him, he still doesn't know what it is, because in his own experience, there is no scarf.
Next, let’s talk about the four basic characteristics of ’s perception:
(1) Constancy
Definition : When the perceptual conditions change within a certain range, the perceptual image remains relatively unchanged.
Example : An adult goes from near to far away. Although he looks smaller and smaller, we will not perceive him as a child. Our experience tells us that an adult will not become a child, no matter how far he is from us.
Category : Size Constancy, Shape Constancy, Color Constancy, Brightness Constancy, Direction Constancy.
(2) Selective
Definition : Actively and intentionally select a few from many things as perceptual objects.
Example : You were chosen in the vast crowd.
(3) Integrity
Definition : People tend to perceive objective objects as a whole.
Example : The following figure is
Although there are scattered shadows in the figure, people will still recognize it as a person riding a horse
The figure has only curves, but people will still recognize it as a triangle
(4) Understanding
Definition : When people perceive the current thing, they always understand it based on their past understanding and experience.
Example : l_ke, you may fill in i or a. Few people will fill in o because the word loke is rare and we may not remember it.
❖
The above is what I want to introduce about the psychological card of perception, but due to limited space, I only introduce a very small part. After the introduction of the first nine parts is completed, the cards behind will be both relaxed and interesting!
