In other words, the Zhenjiang District at that time had a management scope equivalent to the current two prefecture-level cities of Zhenjiang and Changzhou and some areas of Nanjing. In 1956, Wujin County, Zhenjiang District, was included in the Suzhou District management. At the same time, Yixing County, the Suzhou Special Zone, is included in the Zhenjiang Special Zone for management. Next to Zhenjiang area, Nanjing City has a limited jurisdiction. In order to expand the management area and comprehensive strength of Nanjing, Jiangning County, Zhenjiang District, was included in Nanjing City's management in 1971. The zoning of Zhenjiang area has been adjusted to 1 county-level city and 10 counties. In the late 1970s, my country's economy entered the fast lane of rapid development. In order to adapt to the needs of development, various regions under the jurisdiction of each province have successively made zoning adjustments. Jiangsu Province is a southeastern coastal province and has a very fast reaction speed. In 1983, in 1983, the Zhenjiang area was abolished and the Zhenjiang prefecture-level city was established. The original Zhenjiang county-level city was abolished and urban areas and suburban areas were formed. In 2002, Dantu County in Zhenjiang City was abolished and Dantu District was established. As of this time, the zoning pattern of three districts and three county-level cities in Zhenjiang City has been completely formed.
