When Zhi Boyao asked Han Kangzi and Wei Huanzi to inspect the water situation, he pointed at Jinyang City and said proudly to them: "Look, isn't Jinyang almost over? Earlier I only knew the Jinshui statue. Like a city wall, it can protect a city, but now we know that floods can also flood a city!"
Han Kangzi and Wei Huanzi were obedient on the surface and praised Zhi Boyao for his plan, but they were secretly afraid. Because Zhi Boyao's words also reminded them that since water can flood Jinyang, one day Anyi and Pingyang will suffer the same fate as Jinyang.
After Jinyang was flooded, the situation in the city became more and more difficult, and Zhao Xiangzi was very worried.
The retainer Zhang Mengtan believes that the Han family and the Wei family are not willing to follow Zhi Boyao now, so they can find a way to talk to them.
That night, Zhao Xiangzi sent Zhang Mengtan to sneak out of the city and asked Han and Wei to attack Zhiboyao together. The Han and Wei families were worried about their respective futures. After Zhang Meng talked about it, they both naturally agreed.
The next night, when Zhi Boyao was sleeping, war drums sounded from all directions. Soldiers from the Zhao, Han, and Wei families rushed over in boats and rafts. Zhi Boyao's entire army was wiped out, and he himself was caught and killed by men from three families.
In order to avoid future troubles, Han, Zhao, and Wei led their troops to attack the fiefdom of the Zhi family, killed more than 200 members of the Zhi family, and divided the Zhi family's land equally. Soon, they divided up the remaining land of Jin.
In 403 BC, King Weilie of Zhou made the three families of Han, Zhao, and Wei vassals. Historically, the "three families were divided into Jin" was regarded as the watershed between the end of the Spring and Autumn Period and the beginning of the Warring States Period.
Looking back on the story of the three companies being promoted, do you find it incredible? Originally, Zhi Boyao was the most powerful and was sure of victory by uniting with Han and Wei to attack the Zhao family. However, his entire army was wiped out overnight, leaving him defenseless and unable to fight back.
On the surface, Zhi Boyao's failure may seem like underestimation of the enemy and carelessness, but in fact, he was defeated because his rational brain was not online. It would not be an exaggeration to say that his brain was flooded.

People say that Zhi Boyao's failure was due to arrogance and underestimation of the enemy, greed, arbitrariness, nonsense, etc. In fact, these are only superficial reasons.
Why are people prone to arrogance? Zhi Boyao is obviously very strategic, why can't he be cautious even if ordinary people know how to do it?
This is the characteristic of the human brain. Being cautious is easy to say, but very difficult to do because it requires people's rationality to be always online. It is against human nature and instinct to have reason online all the time.
Scientific research has found that the human brain is divided into three brains according to the chronological order of development: the earliest formed instinctive brain , the later developed emotional brain , and the finally evolved rational brain .
If the human instinctive brain is compared to a 100-year-old man, the emotional brain is like a middle-aged person in his 50s, and the rational brain is like a baby less than one year old.
The instinctive brain and emotional brain responsible for instinct, emotion and physiology are both low-level brains, just like other animals. The rational brain that is responsible for thinking is the advanced brain and is unique to humans.
Despite this, due to the different development times and different qualifications of the three brains, their powers are very different. The instinctive brain and emotional brain account for more than 80% of the total power, while the rational brain accounts for less than 20%.
This is why, when facing problems, people's instincts are very strong, they are easy to be emotional, and it is difficult to be rational.
Moreover, when the rational brain is working, that is, when people are thinking, it consumes a lot of energy, and people will soon feel tired.
Human beings were forced to survive in the early days and saved energy for the sake of survival. Based on thousands of years of experience, human primitive instinct genes reject thinking, reduce energy consumption, focus on the present first, and enjoy themselves immediately. Otherwise, they may be eliminated by other animals in the next second. .
Therefore, to this day, people's tendency to take refuge and to be eager for success is very stubborn. The state of most people is: they know it, but they just can’t do it.
It can be said that the process of people from birth to growth is the process of overcoming instinct and emotional nature.
In other words, people must not be willful. Being willful means giving up evolution and developing reason. The consequence is that the rational brain stops developing and has no power to function. Letting instinct and emotions control the brain is like having water in the brain. , speaking and acting vulgarly and stupidly, leading to a sad ending.
Understanding this is the awakening of cognition and the awakening of life.
Whoever can consciously train himself to think from an early age and form a rational and calm brain model will have an absolute advantage in life.
Now let’s look at Zhi Boyao. His ability to become the head of the four major families shows that he has a strong ability to fight and kill, and his brain has strong instant consciousness. However, his long-term rational thinking ability has not been developed. He can only be smart occasionally and always instinctive. , always willful.
So he usually speaks arrogantly, is rude to others, is greedy in dealing with things, makes enemies on all sides, most of his words and deeds are not reviewed by the rational brain, and he is so stupid that it is jaw-dropping and unbelievable.
It can be seen from Zhi Boyao's experience that his brain is flooded. It is either a joke or the rational brain is not developed and strong, and his reason is not online for a long time.
