This is a very small city, but it plays a decisive role in Chinese history because it is home to a thousand-year-old temple - " Famen Temple ", this temple built in the Eastern Han Dynasty was originally called "Ashoka Temple", and was later renamed "Famen Temple" by Li Yuan, the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty.

The most talked-about thing about "Famen Temple" is that the profit-making "finger bone relics" of Sakyamuni were unearthed in the underground palace of the pagoda in the temple in 1987.

On the morning of August 24, 1981, Fufeng County suddenly experienced strong winds. There was thunder and lightning, and it rained non-stop. Due to the long period of rain, half of the Famen Temple pagoda suddenly collapsed.

Since the pagoda is a historical relic, the archaeological team of the Fufeng County Cultural Relics Bureau immediately organized personnel to maintain and clean the pagoda. During the cleanup process, the archaeological team accidentally discovered the underground palace of Famen Temple. Since it is said that there are countless treasures in the underground palace, this situation immediately attracted national attention, so in 1986, archaeological excavation of the underground palace under the pagoda of Famen Temple began.

During the process of cleaning up the underground palace, the archaeological team encountered many wonderful and even difficult-to-explain things. Many years later, in an interview conducted by Phoenix TV with the archaeological team members at that time, these magical details were fully disclosed.

At the beginning of the excavation of the underground palace, Master Jingyi from Famen Temple came to the site to watch the excavation progress. Master Jingyi’s words amazed Cao Wei, who was an archaeological team member at the time. He still remembered that the master said to him: "I have already seen It’s time for the red light to shine.” He asked the mage why I couldn't see it. Unexpectedly, the mage just said to him calmly: "You are mortals with naked eyes, so of course you can't see it." The captain's Han Jinke also encountered something incredible.

He recalled that when the cleaning of the front room was about to end, there were only one "Ashoka Pagoda" and two "Dharma Protector Stone Lions" left in the front room. Since it was already midnight, the archaeological team decided to remove the King Pagoda and the stone lions the next day. Take out the underground palace.

Early the next morning, when the archaeological team arrived at the site, Master Chengguan, the abbot of the temple at the time, walked up to Han Jinke and said to him: I had a dream last night. I dreamed that there were two lions jumping around in the yard. As soon as these words came out, the archaeological team members all looked at each other, because it was impossible for anyone else except the archaeological team to know that there were two "protecting stone lions" in the front room of the underground palace.

After difficult archaeological excavations, in May 1987, the "real body relic" of Buddha finally reappeared in the world, and the entire archaeological team was excited. Just as the archaeological team members' ecstasy subsided, and while making archaeological records, they discovered another magical thing.

Zhang Tinghao, then director of Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau , recalled to reporters that on the day the relics were unearthed, someone told him that there was a gathering in Dharma Town, also known as the Dharma Gate Meeting. He asked the person what festival they were celebrating. The man told him that it seemed to be a Buddhist festival. Zhang Tinghao then took out his calendar and was surprised to find that the day happened to be the "birth anniversary of Sakyamuni ".

Because he said that his previous work was completely arranged according to the requirements of scientific excavation and organization, and he did not deliberately choose the date. He never expected that it would happen to happen on this day, and it was windy and rainy that day. It was a sunny day again the next day. He remembered that it was also recorded in Buddhist scriptures that on the birthday of Buddha, it would be windy and rainy and then sunny again.
