According to the arrangements of the county education bureau, in order to further strengthen school safety management, carry out in-depth activities to create a "safe and harmonious campus", improve teachers and students' awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, as well as their emergency, self-rescue and mutual assistance capabilities when earthquakes occur, so as to keep alarm bells ringing and prevent problems before they happen, the school held a special meeting on earthquake prevention drills at 7:30 pm on October 26 and decided to hold a first-level earthquake prevention evacuation drill on the afternoon of October 27.
In order to make this drill safe, solid and effective, on Wednesday evening self-study, the school held a meeting with drill staff, first-level junior high school class teachers and all teachers at the junior high school level, and made detailed arrangements for the anti-seismic evacuation drill. Before the drill, the Political and Educational Department formulated a detailed "Li County No. 4 Middle School Autumn Anti-Shock Evacuation Drill Plan" and designed a scientific and reasonable anti-Shock Evacuation Drill. The first-level junior high school class teacher organized students to conduct earthquake relief and evacuation escape skills training, and watched the earthquake-proof video, explaining to the students the specific requirements and precautions for this earthquake-proof evacuation drill to prevent stampede accidents during the drill, so as to be prepared for any accidents. From the guidance of students on each floor to all passages at the entrance of the building, personnel were arranged on duty.
15:50, an alarm sounded. The teacher who was in class immediately stopped teaching, opened the front and back doors of the classroom and organized the students of this class to take emergency risk, protected their heads with their hands or books, hid in the corner of the wall or under the desk, and the staff rushed to the designated location as soon as possible.
After 60 seconds of emergency avoidance, the second alarm sounded. Teachers and students evacuated from the classroom to the playground or the open area of the front yard according to the evacuation route set in advance according to the principles of near-access, speed and safety. After confirming safety, each class counted the number of people and reported to the commander-in-chief of the earthquake-proof evacuation drill for each class. During the drill,
, 15 classes in the seventh grade, and more than 800 teachers and students were all safely evacuated to the designated area. It took only 1 minute and 40 seconds, basically meeting the expected requirements of "safe and fast, calm and orderly," were basically met.
Principal Gou Songfeng pointed out the shortcomings in this drill in his summary speech and required all teachers and students to always establish a sense of safety precautions.
