The predecessor of Xinjiang Second Medical College was Houbo College, which was founded in 2003. In 2012, Xinjiang Medical University and our city jointly built the school. In September 2015, Houbo College was relocated to our city as a whole. In January 2021, it was transferred to Xinjiang Second Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of Education, becoming a public general higher education institution at the undergraduate level directly led and managed by the autonomous region government.
Xinjiang Second Medical College takes it as its mission to "strive to build a high-level, regional undergraduate medical education highland with certain influence in the west and distinctive school characteristics". After its successful transformation, it will further help our city build a high-quality city.
College focuses on medicine, and has coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as science and management. It has opened 11 majors such as clinical medicine , stomatology, anesthesiology , and recruits students in 21 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government. Since its establishment, it has sent more than 9,300 graduates.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the college will vigorously develop general medicine , nursing , medical technology , moderately develop public health and preventive medicine majors, and timely expand the scale, adding 3-5 majors to ensure that full-time undergraduate students have stable 7,000 and 1,000 training for various non-academic education .
