2023 U.S. News In the world university rankings, 118 universities in Japan were shortlisted, and among the top 100 in the world, University of Tokyo was shortlisted. The top three universities in Japan are: University of Tokyo, Kyoto University , and Osaka University .
The rankings are Tohoku University , Nagoya University , Kyushu University , Tokyo University , Hokkaido University , Tsukuba University, Keio University , Waseda University .
