I don’t know when, but the school has also started to set up many departments like government departments, with very meticulous division of labor. In the past, schools generally had only two departments: the Teaching Department and the Logistics Department, one was in charge of teaching and the other was in charge of miscellaneous matters, and the school could also operate normally. But now it is different. Everyone has very detailed division of labor, so many departments have appeared. In order to reflect their value, these departments will arrange some tasks for teachers every week. For example, the teaching department will assign classes to listen to teachers, the teaching and research department will inspect teachers' homework lesson plans, the student department will arrange some activity meetings for class cadres, the Political and Educational Department will conduct major health inspections, and the office will arrange some essay contests and other activities. There seems to be not many tasks assigned by each department, but there are still many things that are all concentrated together.

Nowadays teachers not only have to complete teaching tasks, but also have to deal with various errands assigned by various departments of the school. Especially when the school starts and the holiday is about to begin, the school has more chores, and many teachers are so busy that they don’t even have time to class, let alone prepare lessons and correct homework. The key is that the school’s tasks cannot be refused and must be carried out unconditionally.

In the 1980s, the school’s principal and vice principal also attended classes. But now, many middle-level leaders in the school do not attend classes, and even the deputy director only takes some subjects that do not take exams. In this way, the teaching tasks will be on other front-line teachers, causing everyone's teaching tasks to become heavier and heavier.

Take our school as an example. Chinese and mathematics teachers basically work in both subjects, with the weekly classes being around 15 hours, and English teachers work in at least three classes, with the weekly classes being around 15 hours. In addition, Chinese and mathematics teachers have to serve as class teachers. This is a rigid rule of the school. Teachers cannot refuse. Think about it, how can everyone not be tired?

In addition, the school’s big breaks and various activities also have assessment requirements for teachers, and everyone must participate. To put it bluntly, teachers don’t have much freedom in school, so it is absolutely impossible to relax for a while.
