Buddhism believes that people have their past lives and the next life, and the cycle of life and death is constantly changing, and reincarnation is not just in the human world, but in the six realms of reincarnation.
The six realms and the three realms are the six life forms that are summarized, including heavenly beings, Asura , humans, animals, evil ghosts, and hell. The current common things we are in the six realms are humans and animals. The other four forms of life need to be seen under specific conditions.
As for whether a person will be born into the heaven after death, or continue to be reincarnated as a human or fall into hell, evil ghosts, and animals, this mainly depends on the comprehensive influence of various good and evil karma accumulated by oneself and the cultivation of the mind and nature during the past lifetimes.
. Reincarnation is suffering. If you want to break out of the six realms of reincarnation and transcend the flow of life and death, you must practice according to the teachings of Buddhism and eventually obtain great freedom and liberation. This is the important significance of the birth of Buddhism.
Among the six realms, the hell path is the most painful. The hell path is just a general term. It can be subdivided into four parts: the eight hot hells, the eight cold hells, the near-boundary hells and the lonely hell. Except for the lonely hell, the other hells are all created by the collective common karma of sentient beings. Those who commit the most serious evil deeds will be reborn in the hell and undergo tens of trillions of years before they can escape the suffering of this path. The sentient beings in the hell do not come out of the mother's womb, nor do they come out of the egg, but are born from the transformation.
Like the sentient beings born in the eight hot hells, suffering from all kinds of great sufferings. Some sentient beings in the hot hells will kill each other but will not die. They can only endure the pain of being killed over the years and cannot escape. For example, in the eight great cold hells, sentient beings are forced by different degrees of cold suffering, and may even be frozen for tens of billions of years, but will not die because of their karma.
There are many kinds of hell retributions. The Ksitigarbha Sutra says: There is also hell called burning feet, there is also hell called eye eating, there is also hell called Tiewan, etc. If you have read the Ksitigarbha Sutra, you will know that these are all the tragic situations that have been transformed when the evil karma of the past matures. In short, the hell is the path of the greatest pain among the six realms.
