I believe that when many people were young, when they had nosebleeds, their elders would ask us to raise our heads or use paper to block it. And this method has been used until now, which can be said to be a "family inheritance". Now, with the popularization of medical knowledge, more and more people know that when nosebleeds, nosebleeds will flow back to the nasal cavity and throat, which may stimulate the gastric mucosa, cause vomiting or flowing into the air inlet, causing suffocation. However, many people only know one thing but not the other. Not only is tilting your head a wrong method, but it is also wrong to plug a tissue with nosebleeds. If there are fewer tissues, it cannot achieve the effect of stopping bleeding. If there are too many tissues, the process of roughly rotating and hardly stuffing the tissue into the nasal cavity may cause damage to the nasal mucosa. At this time, new injuries will appear on the old injuries, which is the so-called worsening.

In fact, when there is nosebleed

The correct way is to do it in three steps:

1. Sedation; 2. Lean forward; 3. Pinch the nose

First, lean forward to avoid nosebleeds flowing to the pharynx, and use a tissue to block the overflowing blood, but it is not recommended to pinch the paper into a ball and stuff it into the nasal cavity. Secondly, breathe gently with your mouth to prevent blood from choking into the respiratory tract. If there is blood in the mouth, try to spit out to avoid irritating the stomach and causing cough. Finally, pinch the nose wings on both sides with your fingers for 10-15 minutes, and continue to breathe with your mouth, and you can easily stop bleeding. This method is suitable for people who have bleeding in the front of the nasal cavity. If the bleeding has not stopped after 15 minutes, do it again and continue to pinch the nose wings for 10-15 minutes. Follow these three steps and the amount of nose bleeding is not large, it will be stopped soon.

Of course, nosebleeds are small matter, but don’t ignore them. You must go to the hospital for the following situations: 1. The nosebleeds last more than 30 minutes and you feel dizzy; 2. Frequent nosebleeds; 3. A large number of nosebleeds are bleeding at one time.
