Flating gas
Flating gas is a feeling of increasing gas in the gastrointestinal tract.
The gas in the gastrointestinal tract is the air swallowed as food is swallowed. It is normal to swallow a small amount of air, but some people, especially when they feel anxious, subconsciously swallow a lot of air. The air swallowed in large quantities will be belching from to later, so only a small amount of air enters the gastrointestinal tract through the stomach. Swallowing a lot of air makes the patient feel full of abdomen, can be too belching, or exhaust from the anus (farting).
Other gases in the gastrointestinal tract are caused by several factors in the gastrointestinal system itself. Bacteria in the intestine metabolize and decompose food, especially after eating beans and cabbage, will produce hydrogen , methane and carbon dioxide . In patients with enzyme deficiency, their gastrointestinal tract cannot break down and digest certain sugars, and when they eat foods containing these sugars, a large amount of gas will be produced in the gastrointestinal tract. Lactase deficiency, tropical inflammatory enteritis, and pancreatic inadequate function can all cause a large amount of gas in the intestine.
There are several ways for the body to discharge gas. Belching is discharged through the oral cavity, absorbed into the blood through the gastrointestinal wall, and then exhaled through the lungs, and excreted through the anus. Bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract will also catabolize and metabolize some gases.
【Symptoms】
Usually, flatulence is considered to be the cause of abdominal pain, bloating, belching and excessive anus exhaust, but the relationship between flatulence and any of the above symptoms is not fully understood. Some people seem particularly sensitive to gases present in the gastrointestinal tract, while others are able to tolerate the presence of a large amount of gas in the gastrointestinal tract without any symptoms.
Flating gas can cause repeated belching in patients. Normal people exhaust through the anus about 10 times a day, while gastrointestinal flatulence causes patients to exhaust more frequently. Babies with abdominal cramps sometimes expel excessive gas because they actually produce excessive gas, or they are too sensitive, have not been fully understood.
【Treatment】
Abdominal bloating and belching are difficult to relieve and eliminate. If belching is its main symptom, reducing the gas you swallow can help. But this is often difficult because patients usually don't notice they are swallowing the air at all. Avoid chewing gum and eating slowly in a relaxed environment may help.
Patients with belching and excessive anal exhaust should change their diet and try to avoid foods that are difficult to digest. If you find that certain foods are the cause of symptoms, do not eat that type of food or type of food. You can start by avoiding milk and dairy products and then avoiding fruits, certain vegetables and some other foods. Sometimes belching can also be caused by drinking soda or taking antacids such as soda , so it should also be avoided.
Although using drugs generally does not achieve good results, sometimes asking patients to use some drugs can help patients reduce the production of gastrointestinal gas. The anti-ulcers contained in some antacids are helpful in reducing symptoms. This medicine can also be used alone. Sometimes other drugs include other antacids, timulin and benzamide, which may have some effect. Eating more cellulose is effective for some patients, but may worsen the symptoms in others.
