[October 13, 2022, Shanghai] World Vision Day On the same day, Johnson & Johnson Eyelijian supported Tangdou, the largest elderly sports community in China, to launch the "Violent Vision Dance" challenge, inviting square dance enthusiasts to create and challenge freely by adding eye-loving and eye-protecting dance moves to square dance. This challenge aims to awaken the eye-loving and eye-protection awareness of the elderly through popular square dance activities across the country, convey popular scientific knowledge of cataract diseases to the elderly, and advocate a healthy and comfortable lifestyle. After the "Violent Vision Dance" challenge was officially launched, it attracted widespread attention from more than 100,000 users on the first day.
In order to arouse people's attention and solve vision problems, WHO , the International Association for Anti-blindness and other institutions jointly launched the "Vision 2020" plan as early as 1999, emphasizing that vision is a human right. By 2000, the World Health Organization and the International Association for the Prevention of Blindness jointly decided to set the second Thursday of October each year as World Vision Day, calling on the world to care for eye health, pay attention to patients with blindness and vision impairment, and promote the long-term development of the eye vision industry.
Despite significant progress in the treatment and management of eye diseases worldwide, the challenges of ophthalmic diseases remain huge in the past few decades. According to statistics, the incidence rate of cataract in people over 60 years old in my country is about 80%. In the , the seventh national census of , there are 260 million people aged 60 and above, accounting for 18.7%. Based on this estimate, the number of cataract patients in my country may reach 208 million, that is, one in every 7 Chinese people is a cataract patient. According to the "Survey Report on the Current Situation of Cataract Cognition and Diagnosis of China" jointly released by the China Primary Health Care Foundation and the Physicians' News, more than 60% of patients with first-time diagnosis have insufficient cognition of cataract diseases, among which patients also have misunderstandings about cataract diagnosis and treatment. It can be seen that eye health, especially cataracts, has become one of the health issues that the elderly need to pay attention to.
This year, this year's World Vision Day, Johnson & Johnson Eyelijian supported Tangdou to launch the "Viol Vision Dance" challenge, focusing on the middle-aged and elderly people with high incidence of ophthalmic diseases, especially cataracts and ophthalmic diseases. It is hoped that through this educational and entertaining method, daily knowledge of eye use, eye love, and eye protection will be integrated into dance, strengthen the knowledge of eye protection for the elderly, so that people of different ages who love square dance can fully utilize their ingenuity and creativity, integrate the prompt movements of eye love and eye protection into daily dance, and improve their understanding of eye love and eye protection.
