Rabies is caused by rabies virus infection, mainly affecting central nervous system . Most cases show extreme nerve excitement and even mania after onset, mainly due to irritability, fear of wind, water, photophobia, , spasms and convulsions, and finally die due to respiratory and circulatory failure.
"Whether you are bitten by domestic or stray dogs and cats, you need to go to the nearby rabies exposure treatment clinic as soon as possible for wound treatment and get rabies vaccination, because the main sources of rabies in my country are dogs and cats, of which more than 95% of them." Once a suspected animal is injured, the wound should be washed alternately with soapy water and a large amount of flowing water for more than 15 minutes as soon as possible, and go to the rabies exposure treatment clinic as soon as possible to perform standardized disposal, receive rabies vaccine throughout the process, and judge whether to inject rabies immunoglobulin based on the wound situation. In addition, those at high risk of rabies exposure, such as laboratory staff engaged in rabies research, people who are exposed to rabies patients, veterinarians, and travelers who go to remote areas affected by rabies and plan to go outdoors for a long time (such as exploring caves or climbing mountaines) should be immunized before exposure.
