"The decade since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has been the ten years that I have experienced and gained the most in my life, and it is also the ten years that the traditional Chinese medicine industry has developed the fastest and the most changing appearance of rural medical and health." Wang Shuqian, who has been fighting on the front line of epidemic prevention and control, talked about the changes in the past decade, she is very glad that she can walk with the new era and personally participate in and witness the development of the new era.
Wang Shuqian, born in 1990, is a nurse at Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. She once served as the head nurse of the pediatrics department (neonatal department) of Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and the director of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office. She is now the head of the publicity department of Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and the first secretary of Xiaohe Village, Shaopu Town, Zhijin County.
Ten years ago, when the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held, Wang Shuqian was still a student in nursing majoring in Zunyi Medical College. When she graduated in July 2013, she, who was both good at character and academic performance, declined the school’s invitation to stay in school, returned to her hometown, and became a nurse at the county traditional Chinese medicine hospital. In 2017 and 2019, she studied at Guiyang Medical College and Xinhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, and had significantly improved her professional knowledge and professional level.

In the past ten years, Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has built a good development platform for Wang Shuqian. Through her studies, she became the first batch of pediatric nurses in Guizhou Province, took the lead in establishing the hospital's pediatrics (neonatal department), solved the problem of the hospital's lack of pediatrics (neonatal department), and improved the construction of the hospital's department. She presided over the first provincial scientific research project of nursing in Zhijin County, achieving a new breakthrough in the nursing research project in Zhijin County, and taking the hospital's nursing research and teaching work to a new level. The special storage cabinet and new fire dragon tank she invented were awarded the national utility model patent, and contributed to the scientific development of the hospital's traditional Chinese medicine industry and nursing work.

In 2020, the new crown pneumonia epidemic broke out, and Wang Shuqian actively asked for a fight and became the seventh batch of medical personnel in Guizhou to aid Hubei. In 2021, the curtain of rural revitalization began, and Wang Shuqian rushed to the front line of rural revitalization and became the first secretary of Xiaohe Village, Shaopu Town.
Over the past ten years, Wang Shuqian has gained a lot of honors with his own efforts and dedication. She was named the unit's annual advanced worker, won the second prize in the 2021 Zhijin County "5.12" International Nurses' Day Skills Competition, and was also commended by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Government as the "most beautiful retrograde" in the new era, commended by the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Government, and was awarded the "most beautiful worker" in Guizhou Province by the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Women's Federation.

Wang Shuqian said that her personal growth and progress are only a small part of the development of the hospital and the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry.

In 2011, Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital had only one building, 6 departments, 48,516 outpatients and 4,873 hospitals. In 2017, these data increased to: 64,637 outpatients and 10,713 hospitalized.

By 2021, Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has made great progress. There are 23 clinical departments including emergency department, critical care medicine department , encephalopathy department, orthopedic department, acupuncture department , rehabilitation department, spleen and stomach disease department, endocrinology department, among which acupuncture department, orthopedic department, anorectal department is a provincial key specialty, spleen and stomach disease department and endocrinology department are provincial key specialty under construction, and a classic ward of traditional Chinese medicine in the brain disease department under construction. The total number of hospitalizations was 21,970, and the number of outpatient and emergency patients was 134,143.

At present, Zhijin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital covers an area of 23,000 square meters, business spaces are 32,000 square meters, and 448 open beds. The county disability rehabilitation center (the second hospital rehabilitation ward) has started business, the Feitian Branch has put into operation, and has also built 14 township medical community to provide more, better and better traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment services to the people of the county.
City is developing greatly, and rural areas are also changing greatly.
"In the current rural areas, every village is equipped with a standardized clinic, which basically achieves minor illnesses without leaving the village." A year of work in the village has allowed Wang Shuqian to see the prosperous development scene of the countryside and the huge changes in the medical and health industry.
