In 2008, Mr. Zhou, the consultant chief engineer of Hunan Provincial Architectural Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., was diagnosed with lung cancer. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy at the Hunan Provincial Cancer Hospital, and met Professor Yang Nong, director of the hospital's Department of Pulmonary and Gastroenterology. Under the guidance of Professor Yang Nong, Mr. Zhou actively cooperated with the treatment. Although he is 69 years old this year, he is in good condition and is still engaged in the career he loves.
Mr. Zhou is just one of many recovering patients. Since its establishment 50 years ago, Hunan Provincial Cancer Hospital has treated 1.26 million patients, with the oldest patient being 101 years old and the youngest being 2 years old. Over the past 50 years, the doctors, nurses, cadres and staff of this hospital have worked hard and gone all out to help patients fight off the disease and bring them the light of life. They have been widely praised by patients, their families, and all walks of life. At the same time, the hospital has continued to grow and develop, from weak to strong, from strong to sophisticated, and has become a first-class cancer hospital in the country.
