Sun Village broke ground on April 3, 2007. Children were rescued during the summer vacation of that year. The main targets were: underage children of prisoners who had no one to take care of them; extremely poor children whose families were unable to raise them; and left-behind children who were migrant workers in rural areas and whose families had no one to take care of them.
Sun Village has successively rescued 1,078 children in various difficulties from 15 provinces and cities including Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Shaanxi, Fujian and Jiangxi, including 77 college students and 7 graduate students. According to statistics, 83 people in Jiangxi Sun Village have graduated from college, and each of them is now working.
