As of the end of 2021, the total mileage of national highways in my country reached 124,000 kilometers, ranking first in the world in total mileage. The dense highway network closely connects various cities in my country, like the blood vessels of the human body, ensuring the efficient, fast and convenient circulation of personnel and materials between cities in my country, and playing an irreplaceable and important role in promoting the development of my country's economy. Basic information
Shanghai-Xi'an Expressway, referred to as Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway, National Expressway Network No. G40. The Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway is the ninth of the 18 east-west cross-lines. It starts from the Shanghai-Chongsu Interchange Bridge in Pudong New District, Shanghai, and ends at Changle East Road, Baqiao District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is another important national expressway that runs across the east and west ends of the southern North China region.
Shanghai Expressway started construction in December 2008, and was fully completed in August 2012, with a total length of 1,490 kilometers and a designed speed of 80-120km/h. It runs through five provinces and cities including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Shaanxi.
The entire entrance and exit service areas of the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway include: 33 service areas, 3 parking areas, and 76 toll stations/entry and exits.

Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway starts in Shanghai and ends in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.
