In recent years, Changge has been constantly making a living city surrounded by rivers and lakes: implementing the Yellow River regulation and storage project, with a total distance of 48 kilometers, and adjusting the Yellow River water from Heming Lake in Yanling to ensure that the downstream Qingwei River has water all year round.

"Changge City Water Conservancy Chronicle" records that from 1993 to 2000, our city suffered droughts for seven consecutive years, especially the severe drought in the fall of 1998. The total precipitation from September to December was 10.2 mm (which is invalid rainfall).
Since 2011, the upper reaches of Qingwei River, Xinzheng City has built a reservoir to store water, and all the surface runoff in the upstream has been blocked, causing the river channels in our city to dry up, seriously restricting the ecological construction of our city.
Changge must solve the bottleneck of water shortage in the past 5, 10 years, or even over 20 years, and it is necessary to solve the dilemma of no water source caused by drought climate and man-made factors in the upstream. Drawing on the experience of other places, our city has implemented a large-scale cross-basin water diversion project, opened up four major water sources, and fundamentally solved the problem of "waterlessness", including the implementation of the Yellow River and the Changjixu storage control project.
The Yellow River transfer and storage control project started, causing the Yellow River water to travel 166 kilometers through main canals, pipelines, etc. to reach Changge. This is the first time that our city has implemented cross-basin water diversion in history, and it is also the most prominent step in the construction of water ecological civilization in our city!
On January 8, 2017, after the trial water supply pipeline for the Yellow River entering Changjixu was successfully opened at the Changgedong Main Canal water distribution outlet, in order to enhance the project's storage capacity, the second phase of the Yellow River entering Changjixu storage project was implemented, namely the Zengfu Lake expansion project.

The Yellow River that was diverted from Zengfu Lake was filled with water. The clear and transparent Zengfu Lake water can release water to Qingyan River at any time, rejuvenating the long-dried Qingyan River and filling the city with spiritual energy.

If we go back 10 years ago, the environment may be the biggest shortcoming of Zengfu Town . Zengfu Town, which has no mountains and little water, looks everywhere, farmland is everywhere. But today, the situation is very different. The construction of the renovation and upgrading project of Zengfu Lake and Qingwei River has greatly improved the environmental quality in Zengfu Town.
Zengfu Lake is one of the best in terms of scale and quality after expansion and other construction. The 700-acre Zengfu Lake is rippling with blue waves, becoming a beautiful landscape in the north of Changgecheng.
Li Guiying, who has settled in Luoyang , is home to Zengfu Lake. In her spare time, she will come back with her family for the weekend.
"Zengfu Lake has become so beautiful now. Every time I come back, I will take photos and post them on WeChat Moments. Many friends ask me if I am going out for a trip. In fact, they don't know that this is not a scenic spot, but my hometown!" Li Guiying revealed pride in her words.
Relying on the 700 acres of lake surface landscape of Zengfu Lake, the 3,970 acres of Zengfu Lake Forest Park planned in the first phase has completed the greening and lighting of the surrounding main traffic roads. The park has planted green plants such as magnolia, red magnolia, Tasong , and ginkgo, making it a good place for Changge citizens to relax and visit.
"This lake is clean and cool, and there are parks on both sides to visit for free. This is what the beautiful Changge and civilized Changge should look like!" said Hu Xiaoli, a citizen.

The continuous beauty of Zengfu Lake has also made this place a health resort, and the Zengfu Nursing Home by the lake has become a representative of the elderly care industry in our city.
At the beginning of 2018, Zengfu Town Nursing Home moved from the east side of the original Zhongyao Avenue to Changge Zengfu Lake Forest Park. It was surrounded by lakes on three sides, with a pleasant environment and fresh air. It is called "natural oxygen bar" by the elderly.
"Opening the window is Zengfu Lake, and as soon as you are out of the hospital, you will be a park! Who can't be envious!" Yu Wentai, who lives in the nursing home, said with a smile.

The change in Zengfu Lake not only attracted the elderly to come to Anxin home here, but also attracted a group of special "guests".
In April of each year, thousands of " Cliff Sand Swallow " will camp on the artificial "earth mountain" next to Zengfu Lake. These small earthen mountains were piled up when Zengfu Lake was dug two years ago. During the early excavation of Zengfu Lake, a nearly 90-degree section was formed on the soil mountain next to it, which happened to meet the habitat conditions of the cliff sand swallows.
On the earth cliffs hundreds of meters long and seven or eight meters high, there are dense caves the size of fists. Thousands of swallows who go out for food and return to their nests come and go, which is extremely lively. Sometimes they dive in the air, flying into the hole accurately, sometimes flapping their wings, and shooting into the sky like arrows.
In order to protect cliff sand swallows and be a "free landlord", Zengfu Town Government has issued an announcement around the cliff sand swallow habitat: "Illegal soil extraction is strictly prohibited without permission. Once discovered, the car is detained, fined, and detained!" The relevant person in charge of Zengfu Town introduced that cliff sand swallows mainly feed on insects and have high environmental requirements. Usually, only rivers or lakes with clear water quality and abundant water plants can attract them to settle down. Their arrival is a recognition of the environment of Zengfu Lake.
"Only by building a good nest can you attract the phoenix", which also indirectly shows that the ecological environment of Zengfu Lake has been significantly improved.
Zengfu Lake, as the "representative work" of Changge's water system, is constantly creating value and becoming a powerful witness to Changge's continuous development!
