At 11:42 on January 2, 2023, with the landing of flight MU7807, the world's first domestically produced large aircraft of China Eastern Airlines C919 flew from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Haikou Meilan International Airport (hereinafter referred to as " Meilan Airport "), passed through the "water gate" symbolizing the highest etiquette of civil aviation, and officially began verification flights at Haikou Station.
It is understood that C919 will start a 100-hour verification flight journey involving 9 provinces and cities and 10 airports on December 26, 2022, passing through multiple destinations such as Beijing, Sichuan, Xi'an, and Haikou. This flight verification at Haikou station will carry out nearly 20 Hongqiao-Haikou-Hongqiao round-trip flights. Haikou has also become one of the cities where C919 has the most verification flights. The verification flight requires simulating the entire process of flight operation, including flight dispatch and release, passenger boarding, aircraft airworthiness release, crew operation, ground service support, etc., to ensure that it can provide passengers with a good flight experience after entering commercial operation.
During the verification flight, Meilan Airport provided guarantees in accordance with the actual flight operation processes such as service operations, passenger boarding, special vehicle support, and aircraft maintenance. It arranged for the business backbones of each support unit to learn on-site, and tested various support equipment and operating procedures under the guidance of C919 random maintenance, collected problems and risks during operation, and effectively tested the safety assurance capabilities of various professional systems, personnel, and support equipment on the airport ground.
