Musk has previously called hydrogen fuel cells "fool batteries" and called the technology "incredibly stupid." The quick turns are believed to be due to terminal issues encountered in the mass production of the 4680 cells. The
Model H will be sized between the Model X and the Model Y, and will be another vehicle in the "crossover" segment, which has become one of the most popular body styles on the market today. In typical Musk style, the Model H will feature breakthrough features, with the headline feature being the "Hindenburg Mode" derived from SpaceX technology. This uses onboard hydrogen to provide a rocket-based flame speed boost, which will reportedly allow the Model H to hit 60 mph in just 1.2 seconds. That will quickly eat up the range, though, with a WLTP rating of 451 miles and a more frugal driving style.
Model H will be a five-seater, but there is a seven-seat option, apparently for occupant comfort on long journeys. Water from the fuel cell output can be piped into the vehicle to provide passengers with refreshing beverages. The AMD Ryzen-powered entertainment system will also come preloaded with a selection of classic movies and documentaries, including Chain Reaction , Cold Fusion: Water and Fire , Element One and Dr. Taylor's Ultra Big Bomb ". The Dyson Sphere Project game will also be available for front and rear passengers.
