Ming Dynasty realized the systematic introduction of European astronomy during the calendar reform during the Chongzhen period, and completed the encyclopedia-style compilation of the encyclopedia " Chongzhen Almanac " with Tycho Astronomy as the core, becoming a milestone in the history of scientific exchanges between China and foreign countries and the history of Chinese astronomy. From a purely technical perspective, the driving force behind this calendar reform was that there was significant error in the official calendar system of the Ming Dynasty. The traditional method could no longer solve this problem, so it could only introduce European systems with better accuracy. However, if we look at the interaction between Confucianism and astronomical calendar since the Song Dynasty, the introduction of European astronomy also implies a ecology ideal pursued by Neo-Confucianists of the Song and Ming dynasties, that is, to solve the problem of talking about "calendars" (calendars) that is common in traditional calendarists, not "calendars" (calendar theory); because in the view of the editors of almanac , European astronomy is just a combination of both, which can solve a chronic disease in traditional Chinese calendars. From this point of view, Song and Ming Neo-Confucianism did have a very positive impact on the development of the calendar in the late Ming Dynasty and the introduction of foreign astronomy.
