Over the past hundred years, countless heroic models have emerged in Shenyang. With the original aspiration and mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, they have left glorious footprints of heroic struggle on this land. In recent years, the Shenyang Archives (Collection of Literature and History Research) has successively edited and published ten key archive protection and development projects, including "A compilation of archives of Japanese invasion and Shencheng's resistance" (all two volumes), "Red Memories on Black Soil - Compilation of Oral Archives of Eyebrows of Northeast Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army Anti-Japanese Allied Forces". At the same time, many influential exhibitions were held, including "National Disasters Coming - 918 Incident Archives Materials Exhibition", "Century Years of History, Lantai Imprint - Shenyang City Archives and Historical Materials Exhibition Celebrating the Centenary of the Founding of the Party", and three consecutive sessions of the "Promoting the Great War of Resistance and Deepening Research on Anti-Japanese War Culture" and promoting Shenyang to build a famous historical and cultural city forum for the Anti-Japanese War. In 2022, the Shenyang Municipal Archives (City of Literature and History Research) completed the results of three key national archives projects, "Compilation of Shenyang Liberation Archives", "Selected Archives of Anti-Japanese Generals - Huang Xiansheng", and "Selected Archives of Anti-Japanese Patriarchs - Zhang Fengqi", becoming the brewing period of the "Shenyang Heroes Archives and Historical Materials Exhibition". Among them, the "Shenyang Liberation Archives Compilation" uses archives from 1945 to 1949 to truly reproduce the historical facts of the Chinese Communist Party's struggle in the Shenyang area; "Selected historical materials for the Anti-Japanese General Archives - Huang Xiansheng" and "Selected historical materials for the Anti-Japanese Patriarch Archives - Zhang Fengqi", and uses archives and historical materials from 1927 to 1947 to further demonstrate the tenacious resistance of the Liaoshen police led by General Huang Xiansheng and the Liaoning Anti-Japanese Volunteers to the invasion of the Japanese army.
Since March 2022, the Shenyang Archives has formed an exhibition preparation leadership group with the director Zhang Chunfeng being the leader and the main leaders participating, forming a working mechanism coordinated by multiple departments such as the editorial and research department, the utilization department, the exhibition display department, the office, etc. At the same time, more than 10 well-known experts from the Shenyang Party History circle were hired as consultants to participate in the production, and the exhibition preparation work was fully carried out. Starting from March 14, the Shenyang Archives (Shenyang Cultural and Historical Research Institute) will collect relevant archival materials from all walks of life on "promoting the shaping of heroic cities".
