As soon as this said, Chi Haotian's tears burst out from his eyes. The old leader has already done this. He is still caring for and loving him before his death. It is truly unforgettable for life. On January 8, 1983, Yang Yong died of illness at the age of 70.
As Yang Yong said before his death, is anyone really suing Chi Haotian? This is true. At that time, Chi Haotian had actually been removed from his post and was unemployed at home. What's going on? How did Chi Haotian interact with Yang Yong?
Chi Haotian is an outstanding young general from Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province. He came out of the East China Field Army . He served as the deputy political commissar of the Beijing Military Region in the 1970s and was highly valued by Deng Xiaoping. In 1977, Chi Haotian was appointed as Deputy Chief of General Staff and Director of the Political Department of the General Staff.
The chief of staff at that time was Deng Xiaoping. Chi Haotian was very nervous about this appointment. His qualifications were too shallow, and he was really afraid that he would not be able to do well when he entered the General Staff. Luo Ruiqing told him that this was the general ordered by Vice Chairman Deng himself.
At that time, Yang Yong was the first deputy chief of staff, in charge of the daily work of the General Staff. Chi Haotian is the youngest deputy chief of staff. Deng Xiaoping asked him to assist Yang Yong, do more work, carry more burdens, and exercise.
In this way, Chi Haotian became Yang Yong's good assistant. Some people questioned Chi Haotian. Yang Yong welcomed Chi Haotian to work in the General Staff. He said, "We are all so old and are short of young people." I think Chi Haotian is very suitable, so let him stay."
Under Deng Xiaoping's direct leadership, Chi Haotian cooperated with Yang Yong to do a lot of work, such as taking the lead in carrying out a large discussion on the standards of truth in the General Staff, carrying out the three-point rectification and three-inquiry campaign, and rehabilitating some unjust, false and wrong cases, etc.
Yang Yong and Chi Haotian made drastic moves and worked very courageously. They were fully affirmed by Deng Xiaoping, and of course they inevitably offended some people. Someone said to Chi Haotian, how do you think about doing this? What consequences will it bring?
Soon, the complaint letter was sent to the leaders of the Military Commission . They made up some black materials out of nothing and falsely accused Chi Haotian, and even said that Chi Haotian "lived in three doors and lived in a luxurious place." In fact, after Chi Haotian came to work at the General Staff, he still lived in the house assigned by the Beijing Military Region for a long time, which was very simple.
complaint letter also said that Chi Haotian had a problem with his employing route, saying that he reused the "Xiaoyao Sect". Luo Ruiqing called Chi Haotian over to talk and asked him what the "Xiaoyao Sect" means? Why use the "Xiaoyao Sect"?
Chi Haotian explained that the two opposing factions fought to the death, and some people between the two factions called it the "Xiaoyao faction". Chi Haotian believed that the "Xiaoyao Sect" was better than both sects, so he proposed to reuse the "Xiaoyao Sect".
Chi Haotian was in great pain in the face of false accusations. After thinking about it, he requested to be dismissed or transferred from the General Staff. In December 1982, the Military Commission issued orders of five deputy chiefs of staff and three assistant chiefs of staff. There was no name for Chi Haotian, which means that Chi Haotian was dismissed.
He is no longer the Deputy Chief of Staff. The old comrade called him to think more easily, and history will eventually make a fair conclusion. Some people also say that this is a battlefield and someone always needs to make "sacrifices".
Chi Haotian understood that he was very calm inside. Like him, Yang Yong was also sued. Before the old general died, he was still encouraging Chi Haotian. As Yang Yong said, those people were suing Yang Yong and Chi Haotian on the surface, but in fact their fingers were different, that is, they were dissatisfied with Deng Xiaoping's various reforms and rectification measures.
Chi Haotian always believed that Deng Xiaoping's various measures were right, so he also had a clear conscience.Deng Xiaoping did not forget Chi Haotian. He instructed the General Staff to verify and investigate the complaint letter. Finally, we came to the conclusion that reporting is purely a creation of nothing, a reversal of black and white, and it is untenable.
1985, Chi Haotian returned to his post and served as the political commissar of Jinan Military Region. Two years later, he returned to the General Staff Department and served as the Chief of General Staff.
