As we all know, from the day Chairman Mao embarked on the revolutionary path, he made saving China and creating a happy life for people as his task.
After years of hard work and war experience, Chairman Mao finally led a group of revolutionary patriots to establish a country where the people are masters of their own country. Even though he was already the leader of the country at that time, even though he had reached the highest point, Chairman Mao did not regard himself as the emperor of the country. Instead, he denounced such a feudal emperor style that would squander when he gained power.
Chairman Mao
He believes that the party is the public servant of the people, and the Communist Party should do practical things for the people. Therefore, when he became the supreme leader, he never appointed his rights to make use of public and private interests, nor did he destroy party discipline because of the convenience of work.
As Chairman Mao’s personal nurse, Meng Jinyun has been spent in Chairman Mao for a long time. The relationship between the two of them is different from others. Even so, When Meng Jinyun proposed to ask the chairman to introduce himself to the party, the chairman told her very seriously: "I agree, it's not OK. You have to follow the rules. You must submit the application for joining the party first."
Meng Jinyun's identity does not agree with other nurses. She not only has to take care of Chairman Mao's daily life, but also often dances with Chairman Mao, so Chairman Mao would say: "Actually you look very much like my daughter. You are both very young and energetic."
Meng Jinyun
So, what kind of story happened to the two of them back then? What is Chairman Mao in Meng Jinyun's eyes like?
The first acquaintance between Meng Jinyun
"Xiao Meng, if everyone knew that Jiang Qing and I were divorced, what would they think of me?" Chairman Mao murmured with a sad face. Meng Jinyun, who was serving Chairman Mao, replied softly: "Chairman, have you not divorced Comrade Jiang Qing yet?"
This conversation took place in 1976. That year was a special period and a period of light was about to usher in. "Chairman, actually..." Before Meng Jinyun could finish speaking, Chairman Mao waved his hand, meaning to tell her not to say anything. "I know you can't answer. One day I will solve all these things."
Chairman Mao's melancholy made Meng Jinyun feel very distressed. Since she was with Chairman Mao for more than a year, the two of them have often chatted, from geography to astronomy, from history to modernity. But Chairman Mao said so much, but never talked about his own family affairs.
Meng Jinyun and Chairman Mao
He suddenly said this sad words, maybe he had other plans in his heart, Meng Jinyun didn't dare to ask more, but just looked at the old man in front of him as if he was a few years older than when he saw her. Seeing Meng Jinyun looking at him blankly, Chairman Mao couldn't help laughing. He said: "You should do whatever you should do. You will dance again in a few days, don't forget the dance steps."
Meng Jinyun smiled awkwardly and hurried to do his job. The friendship between Chairman Mao and Meng Jinyun started more than a year ago. At that time, the Central Committee of issued an order to allow all cadres to exercise and rest every week , and Meng Jinyun took the opportunity to enter Zhongnanhai and entered the vision of leaders.
At the beginning of the founding of New China, everything was in trouble. The leaders were motivated, hoping to bring the construction of the motherland to a higher level. Many leaders have been running on the front line during those difficult years. They have been through the battlefield for a long time and their physical fitness is no longer as strong as they were when they were young. Nowadays, such labor will inevitably affect the body. Therefore, in order to allow all cadres to get effective rest, the Party Central Committee issued a mandatory order to hold a dance party every week in Zhongnanhai , continuing the past tradition.
dance
In the past, when the Central Red Army was carrying out the revolution in Yan'an, everyone faced the enemy's encirclement and learning day and night, so many cadres and soldiers would dance and relax in their spare time.
At that time, the leaders danced simple three-step and four-step simple dance steps, similar to today's square dance, without physical enthusiasm, nor rigid and old-fashioned mode, so this dance move quickly became popular within the Red Army warriors.
After the founding of New China, the Party Central Committee also attached great importance to the entertainment activities in the past. After all, dancing this simple dance can not only relax your body and mind, but also cultivate your sentiments, so leaders often dance in Chunouzhai, Zhongnanhai. At first, when everyone heard that they could dance, they would find time to dance every week. Chairman Mao was a little unhappy after seeing this situation. After all, dancing is OK, but it cannot delay work.
Chairman Mao was dancing
So he made special regulations on the time to dance, once a week, and the dancing partners can also produce some young men from the art troupe and . Therefore, in Chunouzhai, you can often see leaders from the Corps, Navy, Ministry of Railways and other places dancing and drinking tea here, so this place has become an opportunity for Meng Jinyun to come to Zhongnanhai.
Meng Jinyun is from Hunan, and Chairman Mao often tells people "Meng Jinyun is half of my little fellow villager" . She joined the army at the age of 12, and her dancing talent was gradually discovered by her leaders. In 1963, a new round of dance partner selection of art troupes began , and Meng Jinyun was also brought to Zhongnanhai, Beijing as an art soldier. She may never dream of dancing with her leader in this life.
Due to her outstanding dancing skills, Meng Jinyun quickly became familiar with Premier Zhou, President Zhu and others, but she would never have thought that one day, she admired the most people's hero Chairman Mao would actually take her hand and dance with him . While everyone was immersed in the music, Chairman Mao's majestic body walked towards Meng Jinyun.
Meng Jinyun
"Chairman, can you dance with you?" Meng Jinyun didn't know where the courage came from, so he said this to Chairman Mao. On the other hand, Chairman Mao did not think there was anything wrong, but instead took the initiative to take Meng Jingyun to the dance floor.
"Little comrade, where are you from? How old are you this year?" Chairman asked casually.
"Chairman, my name is Meng Jinyun. I am an art troupe from Hubei." Meng Jinyun said softly.
"Hubei native, I am half a fellow villager." When I heard Meng Jinyun's answer, Chairman Mao was instantly excited. Meng Jinyun's hometown was not far from his hometown. Seeing Chairman Mao so approachable, Meng Jingyun was so shocked.
Chairman Mao
In her impression, Chairman Mao should be a serious and meticulous person. Since he not only dances easily, but also talks to people very kindly, just like a father.
When she was distracted, Meng Jinyun suddenly took five wrong steps and almost stepped on Chairman Mao's shoes. Seeing Meng Jinyun making a fool of herself, Chairman Mao patted her on the shoulder and said: "Little comrade, take your time, you are professional." With Chairman Mao's encouragement, Meng Jinyun felt even more moved, so she began to dance with Chairman Mao attentively.
Ask the Chairman to be my party introduction
Chairman Mao’s acquaintance made Meng Jinyun feel very uneasy. Unexpectedly, the leaders of the country were so kind and amiable. In the days that followed, Meng Jinyun danced several dances with Chairman Mao. But in 968, Meng Jinyun disappeared from Chunouzhai in Zhongnanhai.
Chairman Mao took a photo with the staff around him
"Why is Comrade Xiao Meng missing? Where has she been?" When Chairman Mao came again, he asked his colleagues without seeing Meng Jingyun. "Chairman, she is in prison." Meng Jingyun's colleagues replied. After hearing this answer, Chairman Mao felt very uncomfortable, but it was a business and he didn't want to interfere, so he never saw Meng Jinyun again for many years.
Five years passed by quickly, Meng Jinyun was imprisoned at the age of 20. Five years later, she came out of the dark cell. "The Chairman asked you to go to Zhongnanhai." colleague was very happy to see Meng Jinyun come out. He said: "I went to ask the Chairman, and it was also the Chairman who personally ordered you to let you go. After your case was found out, you should thank him."
Chairman Mao and Meng Jinyun in the TV series
Meng Jinyun was very surprised when she heard this. She couldn't believe that he was willing to help herself just because he had a few encounters with the Chairman. This made a warm current rise in Meng Jinyun's heart. She could no longer control her emotions and burst into tears.
After she came out of prison, she was assigned to work in Wuhan Hospital for a while. During that period, Meng Jinyun felt ashamed. She did not expect that she would suffer this misfortune. Fortunately, Chairman Mao still cared about her fellow villager. With Chairman Mao’s approval, Meng Jinyun went to Zhongnanhai. She told Chairman Mao all the experiences she had in every detail, and she also cried in front of Chairman Mao like her daughter, expressing all the grievances she had over the years.
Chairman Mao felt very sad when he saw such a young girl in her youth, because of the unjust prison. So he patted Meng Jinyun on the shoulder and said: "You just stay in Zhongnanhai to work. Didn't you work in Wuhan Hospital before? Be a nurse for me." With Chairman Mao's affirmation, Meng Jinyun was able to live in Zhongnanhai.
Zhongnanhai
So she returned to Zhongnanhai, and Meng Jinyun cherished the days she spent with Chairman Mao very much. But she only knew that she had not been doing well in the past few years. Even Chairman Mao had become gray-haired during these years, and even blinded her eyes. Seeing this, Meng Jinyun's pain became even deeper.
With Meng Jinyun's company, Chairman Mao began to become talkative. He often told Meng Jinyun some astronomical knowledge and told her to read more books. "Mr. Meng, do you think the words in " Zizhi Tongjian " are all correct?" Chairman Mao likes to call Meng Jinyun "Meng Master". Meng Jinyun replied softly: "I think what is said in the book is all correct."
" This is wrong. It is better to have no books than to believe in books. You must read books critically." Meng Jinyun nodded vigorously, and the chairman did not blame her for her ignorance. Because in that era, there were too few girls who could read, and Meng Jinyun knew that "Zizhi Tongjian" was already considered good.
Zizhi Tongjian
Take the last journey of Chairman Mao
Meng Jinyun and Chairman Mao had chatted with each other and hurried to help Chairman Mao handle the letters. Some of the letters were greetings, and some of them were written for official business. Meng Jinyun would sort them out in different categories and mark them for Chairman Mao to check them personally. But later, Meng Jinyun suddenly realized that he had not yet joined the party, so he publicly handled Chairman Mao’s letters by those who were interested and criticized him again.
So she mustered up the courage to say to Chairman Mao: "Chairman, I want to join the party. If I join the party, I will help you deal with things." "It's good to join the party. Joining the party can learn Marxism-Leninist ideas, which will be helpful to your young comrades." Chairman Mao encouraged her as always.
Chairman Mao
"Chairman, can you be my party introducer? I have submitted an application for joining the party." Meng Jinyun said embarrassedly, then Chairman Mao changed his previous gentle expression. He said seriously: "Mr. Meng, it is a good thing for you to join the party, and it is also appropriate to write an application for joining the party? But all this is done according to the rules and procedures. I have no right to be an introduction person for joining the party. You must first find the group leader of your party branch. You can only pass the vote."
Meng Jinyuntian blushed after hearing this and nodded. She actually knew that Chairman Mao had always been unwilling to open a back door for others, but Meng Jinyun relied on his courage and asked a few more questions.
Chairman Mao did not blame Meng Ziyun, the young girl was not involved in politics and did not understand procedures. It is appropriate to ask, just give her a clear direction. It’s a pity that Meng Jinyun’s application for joining the party has never been approved due to the previous unjust prison. In 1976, Meng Jinyun had become accustomed to walking and doing things around Chairman Mao.
Meng Jinyun
She also often helps Chairman Mao deal with some simple things, because Chairman Mao's physical condition at that time was extremely poor. Meng Jinyun has been serving Chairman Mao for several months and dared not leave a step.
976, just when Chairman Mao was in a difficult time recuperating, the news of Premier Zhou's death made the old man unable to withstand the blow and almost fainted. Fortunately, Meng Jinyun and nurse Zhang Yufeng were waiting by the side, so Chairman Mao woke up with difficulty, and Meng Jinyun suddenly burst into tears.
Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou worked together to spend half of their revolutionary years. Old friends walked ahead by themselves, which made Chairman Mao feel very sad. Since then, Chairman Mao's physical functions have also begun to decline rapidly, and Meng Jinyun is anxious in his eyes.
Premier Zhou and Chairman Mao
In September, Meng Jinyun found that Chairman Mao's health was extremely poor. Chairman Mao could no longer swallow ordinary food and could only rely on nasal feeding to maintain vital signs. Meng Jinyun also had to say something to help the Chairman concentrate while doing daily nursing work.
On 5th , Meng Jinyun had just asked for leave to go home on routine, and suddenly someone came to Zhongnanhai, Beijing to find him. At this time, she realized that maybe something was happening to Chairman Mao. So Meng Jinyun hurried back to Zhongnanhai. She watched the doctor with her own eyes for nearly an hour of rescue, which made Chairman Mao reluctantly escape from the dangerous situation.
At 0:10 on September 9, 1976, Chairman Mao, a great man from a generation, passed away in Beijing. At around 7 o'clock that night, Meng Jinyun had already found that Chairman Mao's body began to feel extremely uncomfortable. Before he fell into a coma, Chairman Mao struggled to say something to ask for a doctor, and Meng Jinyun felt that it was not good at that time.
Chairman Mao passed away
Although the doctors had been waiting by the side for a long time and tried all kinds of ways, Chairman Mao's heart stopped beating forever in the early morning. After Chairman Mao’s death, Meng Jinyun, as his personal secretary, has been cleaning up Chairman Mao’s relics in Zhongnanhai. A month later, she left Zhongnanhai. The old man who cared about her most had passed away, so naturally there was no need for her to stay there.
Later, according to Meng Jinyun's recollection, what she most impressed with Zhongnanhai was Chairman Mao's office and the dancing place, because there were traces of Chairman Mao's existence in both places.
