Those years cannot be forgotten

Stone

Last year, I heard three old comrades telling stories about the revolutionary years in the party history learning and education organized by the district. I was very moved and sorted out these stories.

The first is Zhou Jinyuan, a 91-year-old retired cadre. He is from Shuo County, Shanxi Province and was born in 1930. In early 1938, the Japanese army launched an attack on Shanxi, and more than 100 counties were occupied. At that time, the people suffered and their family was no exception. Their relatives were humiliated and tortured by the Japanese many times. Because his father had not paid the "military ration", the Japanese expose his legs on the spot with a bayonet and collapsed directly to the ground. His brother pulled the donkey and used coal to exchange salt and grain in the plains. The coal was snatched by the Japanese on the way, and the donkey was also snatched away.

Later, the Eighth Route Army arrived. He saw with his own eyes that the Eighth Route Army, both leaders and soldiers, were kind to the people and did good things to build roads for the people. At that time, the Eighth Route Army called on the people to join the army, and at the age of 15 he immediately signed up. At that time, he had only one belief that he would avenge his father. In this way, he became the youngest and shortest soldier in the army. Because he stood among the recruits, his clothes were loose and short, he attracted the attention of an old military doctor. Asked him, "Baby, are you literate?" He said, "I went to elementary school." The doctor said, "Okay, then you can be a health soldier." In this way, he became a health worker in the guerrillas of Shuo County, the Sixth Military Sub-district of the Jinsui Border Region. At that time, the conditions were too poor. The bags carried by the sanitary staff were only five samples of iodine, aspirin, red potion, bandages, and gauze. The warrior was injured and could only perform some simple treatment. For a while, he was responsible for caring for the injured. In addition to delivering water and food to the injured every day, he also had an important task, which was to change the dressings for the injured. The gauze used for changing the dressing is very precious. Each piece of gauze is cut as big as the size of a wound, and the cover cloth is made of coarse cloth from rural areas. Moreover, the cover should not be thrown away after using it. You should clean the blood and pus in the ditches, disinfect it with a steamer, and then use it again.

1948, at the age of 18, he grew taller and stronger, and went to the front line. I remember that autumn that year, the troops attacked Taiyuan but couldn't take it down for a long time. When the battle was in full swing, he saw the soldiers around him sacrificing their lives and moving forward bravely, and asked the instructor: "Instructor, can I join the Communist Party?" After the instructor asked the company, he said to him: "The company said you showed courage on the battlefield and approved you to join the party." In this way, he joined the party in the trenches, without a pen or paper, and faith is an application.

11949, after the liberation of Taiyuan, he began to study in the health school, and then joined to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea . In North Korea, although the American aircraft cannons are powerful, they are not afraid of it. Their class used anti-aircraft gun to shoot a plane and was happy for several days. Of course, the conditions on the Korean battlefield were also very difficult. Drink cold water and sleep in the air-raid shelter. He remembered a piece of pickle he brought from his home and couldn't bear to eat it for a long time...

The second one was also a retired cadre and 89-year-old Tang Dynasty. He was born in 1933. When he was a child, his family was poor and had no money to see a doctor. He originally had nine siblings, but only six of them grew up. The two brothers went to herd cattle for other people's homes when they were less than 10 years old. He was the only child in the family to study for eight years with his support from his parents. At that time, his wife said, "If such a big family doesn't go to school, will they still ask for people when writing letters?" In July 1949, he joined the People's Liberation Army of China, and has been following the troops to engage in medical work in Sichuan, Tibet and other places.

1955, he retired and returned to the local area, and worked in Bishan Grain Bureau, Supply and Marketing Cooperative, and Township. During his work at the Grain Bureau, he was responsible for the transportation, warehousing and storage of grain in the county. He often commanded more than 100 trucks to transport grain overnight and rarely had time to sleep. He hadn't been home for three years, and his eldest daughter didn't know him when he went back. Because his work was recognized by his superiors, in 1958, he gloriously joined the Communist Party of China.

When working in Laifeng , an old man once caught a fire at home. He burned on a large area of . The house was burned clean and he didn't even have money to be admitted to the hospital. He made arrangements immediately, called the hospital, asked the elderly to be admitted first, and immediately transferred the hospital 30 yuan admission fee. Later, a leader in the village questioned him and said that the matter was not discussed at a meeting. He heard this and immediately retorted: "I am in charge of civil affairs, so the money can be paid. People are burned to this way. Who will I discuss with? After a long time, there will be no one. Who will be responsible? Are you responsible?" He believes that as a cadre, you must dare to do things and be responsible. As long as you keep the policies firm and have no selfishness, there will be no problems.

In February 2020, after he learned about the epidemic prevention and control work from the TV and community worker , he immediately withdrew 10,000 yuan of pensions and donated them to Laifeng Street . Last year, he took the initiative to pay 10,000 yuan in special party dues. He said that he paid special party fees to congratulate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China because he was full of affection for the party.

The third place is veteran, 86-year-old Lei Zhiqi. In 1953, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the army after graduating from junior high school and rushed to the battlefield of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. He became a soldier in an anti-aircraft artillery unit, guarding the lifeline of transportation at that time - the Cheongcheon River Bridge on the west coast of North Korea.

This bridge is located on the Manpu- Pyongyang railway line. It is an important transportation route in northern North Korea and the aorta connecting the front line and the rear of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. A large amount of weapons, ammunition and military supplies are transported from here to the front line day and night. In order to cut off this aorta, the US military sent thousands of aircraft, bombing this traffic lifeline almost every day, dropping tens of thousands of bombs, and the bridge is often damaged. Their Anti-aircraft Artillery 's mission is to kill the enemy's bombers. At that time, he was a liaison officer, responsible for conveying instructions and orders from superiors, such as how many enemy planes came? What is the height? Which direction? There are seven people in an anti-aircraft artillery squad, responsible for an anti-aircraft artillery. The war was cruel. Seeing comrades falling down beside them and seeing the guards of Qingchuan River Bridge being bombed by enemy planes, they became even more indignant and fought bravely. In the fight against the United States and aid Korea, their company defeated the enemy's fighter and bombers many times, and collectively established multiple second-class and third-class .

After the signing of the armistice agreement between Panmunjom in Korea, they successively stationed in Beijing and Zhejiang. In 1955, floods broke out in the upstream of Quzhou and the fort was almost flooded. He and his comrades immediately carried the shells and transported them to a safe area by boat. The shells were transported, and finally their squad was left to guard the position. There is no food, it is the peaches on the trees of ordinary people who saved them...

The stories told by the three old comrades are their personal experiences. From those years we can feel that the strength of the motherland today was exchanged for blood and sweat by our ancestors.
