Times have changed, and there is nothing that time cannot change. Over time, the sea may become farmland, and farmland may become the sea. And the mausoleums that the ancients decorated incomparably luxuriously in those days may be unknown in modern times, and only come to life through some chance opportunity. Therefore, many ancient tombs were discovered for strange reasons. For example, the discovery of Mawangdui was due to the construction of an underground hospital, and the discovery of the tomb of Zeng Houyi was due to the expansion of a factory building by a certain department of the Wuhan Air Force.
These two are relatively normal, one builds a hospital and the other builds a factory. In comparison, the big tomb I'm going to talk about today is a bit "miserable". It was unfortunate that it became a septic tank, and it took a long time to be discovered. Fortunately, the seal of the mausoleum was not bad, and the pollution was limited. This mausoleum with a septic tank on the upper floor was the mausoleum of Wanyan Aguda. This makes people a little puzzled. Most of the imperial mausoleums are known, such as the Tang imperial mausoleum, the Ming imperial mausoleum and so on. Why was his imperial mausoleum so desolate?
Before we talk about the downfall of the Jinhuang Mausoleum, we must first talk about Wanyan Aguda, he is also a remarkable emperor. As the founding emperor of the Jin Dynasty, he was brave and skilled in combat and outstanding talent, and he implemented the Jurchen writing. As the leader of the Jurchen Tribal Alliance, he completed the two major events of founding the country and breaking the Liaoning, pushing the history of the Jurchen tribe into a new era. In August of the seventh year of Tianfu (1123), Wanyan Agu led the army back to Shangjing, but unexpectedly died on the way.
died at the age of fifty-six and was buried in the Rui Mausoleum of Jinling, which is also the tomb of the Jin Dynasty. The tombs of the seventeen emperors of the Jin Dynasty are all located in this area, that is, Jiulong Mountain, Phoenix Mountain, Lianquanding Dongyu, Sanpen Mountain Lumenyu, etc., in the mountains and forests of more than 60,000 square meters. It was not originally here, but in Acheng, Heilongjiang, after King Hailing of the Jin Dynasty moved his capital to Beijing. In order to achieve a long-term goal, I moved my ancestral mausoleum to Beijing. I didn't realize that this move led to later problems.
This starts with the protection of the tombs of the previous dynasty by later dynasties. According to logic, no matter which dynasty overthrew the previous dynasty, the tombs of the previous dynasty should be protected. This is an unwritten rule. In fact, Jinling has always enjoyed sacrifice and protection from the Yuan Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty. The problem lies in the Apocalypse period, when the Manchus rising in the Northeast were descendants of the Jurchens, and the later Jin Jian repeatedly violated the borders of the Ming Dynasty.
Unfortunately, Apocalypse is a real drowsy king. If he hadn't died early, I'm afraid he would be the king of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, he found out that the reason for the rise of the Manchus was Jinling's "prosperity of kingship", so in the second and third years of Apocalypse, Jinling was destroyed on a large scale. He dug a deep hole in the throat and threw it into the cobblestone to break the so-called Wang Qi.
The buildings on the ground in Jinling were all smashed, even some tomb passages and underground palaces were opened, and all the tombs of the Jin Dynasty outside Jinling were also destroyed. Old Beijing originally had the Eight Views of Yanjing, among which the Daoling Cang Mang said that it was Jinling, but the other seven scenic spots remained the same. However, due to large-scale destruction, Jinling was gradually forgotten by people. Later, some people built houses here.
It happened that the septic tank was built above Wanyan Aguda's mausoleum. I don't know if Wanyan Aguda knew that his mausoleum had become a septic tank, whether he would be angry with Wanyanliang, the king of Hailing, moving his mausoleum, or hating Emperor Xizong Zhu of the Ming Dynasty. The mausoleum was destroyed by the school. Fortunately, it was discovered in time, the septic tank did not penetrate much into the ground, and the seal of the Jinhuang Mausoleum was also good.
Approved by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the Beijing Municipal Department of Cultural Relics conducted rescue excavations at the site of the Jinhuang Mausoleum, and four coffins were unearthed in the Rui Mausoleum of Wanyan Aguda.Among them, the cultural relics in Jinling are well preserved, and a lot of them have been unearthed. After all, the Ming Dynasty was not a tomb robber. After going through hardships, Jinling has finally been well protected. Its unearthed not only provided modern people with physical information on the modern mausoleum system, but also further improved people's understanding of the Jin Dynasty.
